Night 43: Main Hallway, 1-West

Even distracted as he was, Suzaku remembered to stay on his guard as he passed into the main hallway. He would only be here for a moment, but there could still be a monster lurking in the darkness. And it was so quiet and deserted just now that he would make easy prey.

Nathan tried to exchange a glance with Peter at Claire's words - a worried sort of look, as if he was concerned she could be seeing things. A monster definitely would have been something that Nathan would have seen, right? If Claire had seen something...

Tell me my eyesight's not going, Nathan thought, hopefully. That would just be the icing on the damn cake, wouldn't it?

Nathan tried to return the smile, hoping to show some kind of warmth, hoping to eventually gain the same kind of rapport that Peter had with the girl. She was his daughter after all, even if he hadn't even known about her until earlier that year.

"Yeah," he nodded, glancing once again down the hall. "Let's." Looking back towards Peter, Nathan frowned. "Got any ideas on where to go? You know this place better than either of us."

While Peter found Claire's response to be terribly vague, he wasn't quite sure what he could say to her. He didn't want to push her when she was obviously unsettled by whatever she had seen, but he didn't like that she was keeping them in the dark either.

It didn't look like Nathan wanted to force her into anything, though, and Peter knew that the man was generally far more blunt about things than he was. He returned his brother's glance to let him know that he was also confused and concerned, but then he was put on the spot by Nathan's question.

"Right, umm... well, the place I know of is the shed that's in the courtyard. There are a few different things there that can be used as weapons in a pinch, so we can try for that." It would mean cutting through the Sun Room and the cafeteria, but they might get lucky. He and Brooklyn had that one time, after all -- and he'd managed to make it there with Xellos, as well.

"Follow me," he said with a nod to both of them, and then he started toward the Sun Room while making sure that Nathan and Claire were both trailing closely.
