Night 43: F1-10 Hall

Breaking down the bed frame after she'd eaten some of her meal had given Teresa something to do while she waited for the night time phenomena to arrive. Having not been conscious when it occurred the previous night, she was curious. She was not disappointed. The overhead words were certainly something different.

As the door opened, Teresa finished wrapping shredded bedding around the bottom portion of the six foot long metal bar that had once been a main side support of the bed's frame. It wasn't good quality metal by any means, but it was better than nothing. At least, she didn't think it'd break the first time she hit something with it given her reduced strength. As she hefted the weapon, she swung it around to get a feel and decided that it would do for now. Should she manage to find the right kind of stone or a file, she could even work a rough edge onto it.

A few more strips of cloth and the hybrid tied the makeshift weapon across her back, the 'hilt' sticking a foot and a half above her shoulders, and fashioned the cloth so she could pull on the knot by her right shoulder for a quick release. That done, Teresa took her flashlight and exited the room.

"Yes..." Miku moaned. She'd been sleeping, and she felt Mafuyu standing over her. But then, he'd gone away.

And the rocks started falling on her. First, it was just hard to breathe, the smell of the Hell Gate cave, cold and damp, thick with dust and decay, had assaulted her nose.

The first rock crushed her left arm and she moaned. Blood from the break spread out against her bed.

He heard a voice, a sleepy one and he relaxed. She'd just been sleeping this entire time. Thank God, she was alright. And the explosion or the scary announcements hadn't reached her. Smiling faintly, he opened the door and stepped inside, pulling his backpack off. He was about to set it down by the door when he heard Miku moan. Not in the sleepy way, but--

Pain? Was she in pain? His head whipped around and he flicked his light on. The first thing he saw was her, on the bed, her arm broken - no, crushed. She was on the bed with a crushed arm. How was that even possible?! She'd been sleeping just a moment before! Then something dripped onto the ground and Ritsuka's gaze followed that.

Red.

Coppery. The smell of--

"MIKU!" He dropped the flashlight and rushed forward, grabbing her but careful to avoid her arm. "Miku! Can you hear me?! Miku!"
