Night 43: F1-10 Hall

Breaking down the bed frame after she'd eaten some of her meal had given Teresa something to do while she waited for the night time phenomena to arrive. Having not been conscious when it occurred the previous night, she was curious. She was not disappointed. The overhead words were certainly something different.

As the door opened, Teresa finished wrapping shredded bedding around the bottom portion of the six foot long metal bar that had once been a main side support of the bed's frame. It wasn't good quality metal by any means, but it was better than nothing. At least, she didn't think it'd break the first time she hit something with it given her reduced strength. As she hefted the weapon, she swung it around to get a feel and decided that it would do for now. Should she manage to find the right kind of stone or a file, she could even work a rough edge onto it.

A few more strips of cloth and the hybrid tied the makeshift weapon across her back, the 'hilt' sticking a foot and a half above her shoulders, and fashioned the cloth so she could pull on the knot by her right shoulder for a quick release. That done, Teresa took her flashlight and exited the room.

Kagura hoped her roommate was able to do alright on her first night out. But if she was familiar with dead things and evil spirits, she ought to be okay. To be honest, she didn't much want to think about how many others she'd thought would be okay, but ended up as bloody messes in the halls at night. It was the kind of thing that made her heart ache.

Luckily, she didn't think on it long. There was a knock at the door and a familiar voice. Kagura was quick to jump to her feet and answer, greeting both Roger and Bridget with a smile as she opened the door to let them in.

"I'm here. Sorry! Come in, please!"

Bridget stepped in past Kagura with a smile and a little bow of his head. "Thank you." He felt a bit silly not doing anything productive tonight, but he thought they could both use the break. "I hope the rest of your day went well?"

The strangeness of polite conversation in light of what was going on had long since ceased to bother Bridget. There was no reason to not be polite, even here.

"Mm it was fine," she assured him, closing the door after he'd passed. "Did... did you and Roger-san have a good day too?"

She didn't know why she felt nervous. It wasn't like she hadn't spent several nights with Bridget already. This was different, in a way, but she had to do what she could to keep Bridget's spirits up. So long as he was able to smile, that was what mattered.

Bridget smiled and nodded. "After I talked to you, I felt better," headmitted. "Thank you."

It had been kind of embarrassing to cry on her like that, but he really had felt better.

Kagura felt a flush come to her cheeks at the compliment, but it was something she'd honestly been glad to do. It wasn't often she could give someone a hug to comfort them, or receive one, even though they felt so nice. Maybe it was selfish when she thought about it that way, but everyone here probably needed a big hug once in a while. And with Bridget, well... she couldn't completely forget how much she missed home, but he made it a lot easier to feel like things weren't completely hopeless.

"I'm glad," she said honestly, moving to pick up her notebook and some pens from the drawer.

"I thought we could pass the time together ah... playing some games. I know a few you can play on paper. Or we could try origami. Is... is there one you'd like?"
