Teresa was supposed to be meeting Euphy where they had encountered each other the previous night, but considering the maps showed there was only one female section in the barracks, it seemed pointless to wait for the girl out in the hallway when she had to pass through this junction to get there. Still, she went to the door to the hallway and opened it. A quick look outside showed her only one other, the woman's stance more than enough to immediately identify her as someone other than the girl in question.

Leaving the door open, Teresa stepped back to lean against a nearby wall. She crossed her arms as she waited, silver eyes flickering toward even the slightest of movement.

Oh, thank goodness. Euphemia breathed a sigh of relief as she stepped out of the block and heard people moving through the halls. This was far, far better than the night before, and reassured her - things really would be all right. She could say that with more certainty now, even if...wait, had the halls just changed? That was strange, to say the least. She shook her head, and things were back to normal, though. I must be seeing things. Calm down.

She breathed a second sigh of relief when she saw Teresa, though - wait, what was that on her back? She blinked, thinking that it had to be pretty heavy, but didn't comment further. "Good evening."

Well, at least there was a person in the hallway, like there ought to be during nightshifts. None of that empty hallway shit that had maybe even kind of spooked her a little bit.

The immediate problem this time was that Alkaid found her mouth unexpectedly watering. Like the blonde woman leaning against the wall across the hallway had bones made of delicious graham crackers, that would crunch pleasantly in her mouth...

Dammit.

She couldn't look at anyone. And she'd have to calm the urge to snack. Granted, it was a little bit better than it was last night, and so was the pain and the rot that had spread across half her arm...

The door was open. Alkaid left.

It was a bit of a relief to pass another living soul as Suzaku went through the open door. He spared a glance for the tall blonde woman waiting by the wall, but didn't recognize her, so he quickly made his way to the far end of the hall. Yuffie's room was in the lower digits, so it would be at the end, just like she'd said.

For the first time in a while, Anise didn't hurry as she made her way into the next hallway. She didn't need to worry about beating the crowd, or holding up fellow club members. Instead, it was probably better if she took her time. Once everyone with important goals on their minds were off and on their way, it would mostly be aimless wanderers left in the patient block. She could probably find one among them that would be willing to go somewhere with her.

Getting up and walking around was making her feel better, but she still wanted to see if she could get her face washed properly. She didn't want to face anyone else until she was positive there weren't any traces of tears on her face.

As the girl entered the main hallway for the block, however, she spotted a glint of metal out of the corner of her eye. Anise stopped in her tracks and shone her flashlight around, but there was nothing out of the ordinary. Weird. Was she just imagining things?

Well, whatever. As long as it wasn't a monster coming at her, she supposed it wasn't worth thinking about. Anise started walking again, quickly entering the girls' washroom.

Sync knew he was making good time considering that there was hardly a soul out in the female block. By now it was somewhat strange that he had barely come across anyone, but in the end it wasn't his problem if no one wanted to move out early. With everyone's lack of efficiency it wasn't a surprise that nothing got done nowadays.

The God-General had kept his flashlight pointed down on the floor, using what light that gave to eye the nearby doors. It had been a while since he made it to the F block, but it wasn't like it was any different from the rest of the patient's area.

Yet before he took another step he had caught sight of something out of the corner of his eye, looking towards the direction of the bathroom just as a familiar figure slipped inside.

Sync stood there for a moment, his mind slowly processing what he'd just seen, before a small smile crept up the corners of his lips. Completely abandoning his plan to meet up with Dahlia as soon as possible, the replica began to make his way to where Anise had gone.

Maybe bringing along some dead weight wouldn't be so boring after all.

The hallway was quiet, as usual. Yuffie didn't bother to turn her flashlight on, trusting the shadows and her senses to keep her safe for the time being. F30 was at the very start of the second row, if she remembered right. That wasn't far, and it was hella easy to get to, even with an armful of crap.

A rake? Okay, he was a little skinny, but he really didn't think of himself that way. As long as he stayed in shape, he thought his body was as good as it was going to get. "I'm not tall, you're just short," he retorted, glad to be around someone who was actually shorter than him for once. (And the fact that he was thinking about such inane things showed Yuffie was being as good a distraction as he'd hoped.)

But Suzaku had no particular need to see Yuffie strip, either, so he was glad to commence Operation. . . Buttkicktastic. Where did she even come up with these things?

Suzaku followed her out the door, walking a little awkwardly due to the combined hindrances of the knife against his thigh and the pile of metal in his arms. It would suck massively if they got attacked now, but that probably wasn't likely in these hallways. "Does Team Awesomesauce get codenames?" he asked idly for the sake of conversation as he followed her towards the second row. He flicked his flashlight down the hall, noting the number of the closest one -- F30, perfect -- and stepped up to the door.

There were others about, moving in and out of the hallway. Most females, a result of the segregated sleeping arrangements no doubt, but a few men.

She recognized no one.

Keeping her flashlight and her profile low, Hime stepped among the patients and out into the hallway, back towards the Sun Room. She wanted to arm herself; she didn't recall seeing an armory on the map she'd glanced over, so the kitchen would have to do.

Kaoru hadn't wanted to wait in her room for Kenshin, and decided she would be proactive this evening, and wait for him in the big hallway that connected to her hall to the others of the female block. They had to help with some metal gathering, which was annoying in itself (she was an instructor, not a miner, or what ever it was they were doing), but at least it meant they were doing something. It felt like Kaoru hadn't had a chance to stretch her legs in so long, and even last night hadn't really... worked as well as she thought.

So, Kaoru found a bit of empty wall space to lean against with her frying pan and kept her ears and eyes open for Kenshin.

Ayumu had thought the conversation between her roommate and Suzaku, plus her own preparations to depart, would have taken more time - but apparently not. The main hallway was still fairly empty, with most of those few out and about making their way quickly toward their destinations rather than lingering.

There was one amongst those few lingering, however, who caught her attention. Yet another one of Himura's friends, which fact sent one of the cracks in her facade of calm shivering wider. She brushed a hand down the front of her shirt as though smoothing it, checking that what she'd concealed beneath her clothing was still hidden there, then moved forward.

It was likely best to just avoid the woman entirely, avoid any sort of confrontation if she wanted to get anything done tonight. Instead, though, she found herself walking close to Kaoru, her hesitant-seeming footsteps just brushing the edge of the area illuminated by the woman's flashlight.

"Oh! Hello," she said, as though suddenly startled, then paused a moment before asking, "Why do you have a pan?"

Sync found his flashlight almost instantly, bending down to pick it up once he made it out of the bathroom. He didn't really care if anyone saw him; it wasn't like decency mattered during the middle of the night.

"Stay close," He said, glancing over his shoulder at Anise. He outstretched his free hand to her as a simple gesture for her to take it, though that smirk certainly betrayed his intentions. Oh, he knew he could chase after her if she tried to run away, but why not add to the humiliation?

Anise complied in that she moved so she was walking next to Sync with only a little less than an arm's length between them, but she didn't make a move for the hand. "I'm close enough," she retorted. She was within sight and within reach, so it wasn't like she could make a run for it. Besides, her hands were full! She wasn't going to abandon the flashlight or the mallet just so Sync could be an even bigger creep.

Setsuna looked around; again, no signs of staff members, although it was far from obvious by now that the patients have been freely roaming about. He pointed his flashlight to the doors nearest the hallway: F40, F30, F20... F25 must be in the second turn, then.

She was getting flashbacks from her first night here already. Empty hallways, boring company, and nothing to do. This basement Sync was dragging her to better have been made of solid gold or gave her a chance to escape. Otherwise, him and his not-girlfriend were being disposed of like the trash they were.

She turned back to face their new guest, all uncomfortable smiles after that little blunder. "So... how do you and Sy know each other? You must be very good friends!"

That act of Sync's would have gotten Anise fuming again, if she wasn't trying to keep up a good front. When Sync turned to leave, Anise turned too, scowling at the boy during the short time she had her back turned to Dahlia. Once the other girl started to catch up, she tried to relax and put on a normal, cute face again for her.

The girl perked up when she was asked a question, and tried not to wince at the good friends bit. "Um, well, we kind of grew up in the same place," she offered casually in response, glancing at Sync. She wasn't sure how much was safe to say in front of Dahlia, so she left an opening for Sync to add whatever he wanted. Hopefully he wouldn't be able to turn that into some embarrassing lie, too.

Kitty moved as quickly as she could while still being quiet. There was no sense in trying to draw any unwanted attention to herself, after all. Especially since she was alone right at the moment...

Whoa, don't go there, Kitty thought, shaking her head slightly. If she let herself think about it too much, she'd end up panicking; and that was something she didn't want to do. She only had to go through a few hallways, what was the worst that could happen?

She could have sworn that she saw something moving out of the corner of her eye, but she shook it off. There couldn't possibly be anything there.

She continued to hold her flashlight in front of her, memorizing the halls as best as she could while she followed Setsuna.

"Who informed you of that?" Setsuna asked as they took a turn. He swept his flashlight once along the corridor; as to why he did it, it was both out of habit—scanning an area before embarking on a course of action had been part of basic military training—and because of the feeling that something about the institution was terribly wrong.

The hallway seemed nearly empty. Daphne wasn't quite sure if this was normal, or if it was a bad sign. The general ambiance of the place led her to believe the latter, merely as a matter of course. As she turned down toward the door leading to the main hall, she thought she caught a flicker of motion out of the corner of her eye, along the far wall. A swift glance revealed nothing, though, and after a few seconds spent searching around for the source of it, she continued onward.

Further down, near the last residence hall before the main corridor, she caught another flicker, this time off to her left. Certain her mind wasn't playing tricks on her this time, she turned sharply and hurried down the hallway.

She'd had to fiddle with where to put the flashlight after running into the wall when she tried to hold it in one hand. Mele ended up squishing it between her knees; her legs would get tired after a while, but she'd address that later.

Her fingers were light and tense as she'd traversed the hall, not that it made the wheelchair any quieter, but she was going to imagine it did. Old habits died hard, especially ones she'd always relied on for survival. She would have been less careful about her "footsteps" if she had her invisibility, but she did not, and that made her vulnerable in a way she did not like.

The night, the Institute was familiar like this, and, with a jolt, Mele belatedly realized that this could be the Institute's night, where critters and apparently brainwashed patients roamed.

Mele was not going to think about what she would do if something jumped out at her. She would not. Something flashed at the corner of her vision, but when Mele whipped around, there was nothing there. Just a wall. Uneasily, Mele's fingers tightened on the chair as she continued on.

Monsters didn't phase her, although she would have liked a proper weapon or a decent materia to play with.

The hallway was dark and she flicked on the torch briefly so that she could see where the end of the corridor was, shielding her eyes as best she could.
