Dayshift 43: Waiting Room / Lobby 2 [4th Shift]

"Now you just have a seat and wait for your visitor like everyone else."

As the nurse went away from him, Kurogane huffed out some agitation but refused to have a seat. Hearing that he had a visitor had been one of the last things he'd expected. It was always the magician who got one, not him. And who the hell would want to visit him anyway?

During his first protests, the nurse had been telling him to behave since it wasn't nice to be sour to girls, so he knew it had to be a girl that was visiting. There were a few of those Kurogane knew could show up as a "visitor" for him, all of which were annoying. Some were worse than others too. He could probably handle if Sohma showed up, and maybe Amaterasu, but when it came to Tomoyo-hime... she was already hard to handle normally, no matter what world she came from. The Piffle version had been pretty much the same, just raised differently. If he saw her, even a fake her, she would probably be just the same and he'd have to at put up with it no matter what.

Eventually he chose to take a seat, knowing that he would not be leaving any time soon. Of course, he picked the one that was furthest into the corner to avoid unwanted conversations. He would already have to deal with a visitor; he shouldn't have to deal with anything more.

Skuld nearly swore, frustrated; this was not going the way she'd hoped. As usual, in this place. "Stop pretending--or are you trying to make your mother proud?" she demanded. That should get a reaction; Urd so couldn't ignore mentions of Hild.

Tyra made a face and put on a show of looking around curiously, as if trying to figure out where that strange buzzing noise was coming from. "Well, if you don't want to talk, I can always just go home."

Skuld growled; tempted to keep at it until she got a response, but she remembered well that Urd was even more stubborn than she was sometimes, and waiting her out never worked.

Slumping back in her chair, she muttered "So... what've I missed?" Might as well play along, since she didn't have any better ideas--and maybe Urd would slip up and say something she shouldn't.

Tyra gave Dalia a very deliberately bored, neutral sort of look. She wasn't going to be the one to escalate this, and then have to go home to Astrid and explain why she couldn't get much information on how their little sister was doing. No way was she going home to Disappointed Astrid. Fortunately, Dalia calmed down--if grudgingly--and switched back to Japanese. "Not much. Astrid and Keisuke are still not tying the knot."

Some things hadn't changed. "Good," Skuld snapped. "He doesn't deserve her." Okay, she wasn't sure if she knew this guy, but she knew Belldandy and nobody was good enough for her. Besides, she did know he'd taken apart Sigel and shut down Banpei, so she could dislike him on principle.

This was her cue to say how she'd been doing, but what was the point? She wouldn't be believed if she told the truth about what was going on, and she refused to lie over something she didn't really want to hide. At least she could still bring up Hild if Urd asked too much and she wanted to change the subject.
