Day 43: Sun Room, Second Shift

When the shift changed, HK stayed put. Even after a long night of zombie killing, he had no interest in meatbag fuel, especially after all the discussion of chocolate with that rather strange meatbag. It was just making him crave the stuff even more than he had previously, if that was possible.

Oh, right. He was supposed to be looking for someone who was "VERY LARGE, WITH DARK HAIR." And also seemed to not know what lower-case letters were on the bulletin. As if that would help. He'd seen a likely candidate last shift, but talk of chocolate had distracted him.

Woah. Tough lady. That was Touya's first impression of the stranger. Even the way she spoke said that she wasn't someone to pick a fight with. Not like Touya was adept at picking fights or anything. He was usually the one breaking them up by picking up damn shrimps by their collars and telling them to bug off before they really upset his sister and dammit that kid better stay away from her.

"Ganju?" Touya repeated, looking at the board and frowning. "I haven't heard of him, much less seen him. But I haven't been here very long. Only under a week."

"Che!" Kuukaku replied. This and the lack of response meant that Ganju was probably back home hiding his sorry ass or something. He probably would've made himself known already by throwing a damned fuss, anyway. "He probably ain't here, then."

The punk'd better not get his sorry ass into trouble while she was away. Or jack her damned house up.

She continued to look over the other stuff posted on the bulletin board for the moment before demanding: "So, who are you?"

She certainly was demanding, too. Not that it bothered Touya--he was like a brick wall when it came to people and their problems. After all, he had worked retail for God knew how long.

"Kinomoto Touya," he replied, feeling like he was a soldier in front of a drill sergeant. "I'm looking for my sister. She's about this tall," he indicated her height with his hand--maybe just a little shorter. "And has strawberry blonde hair in pigtails. Her name's Sakura. Or... Lily, I think?"

He crossed his arms, thinking. He was pretty sure her fake name was Lily...

"Your sis?" Kuukaku looked thoughtful for a moment. Lily had to be the fake name, she guessed. Like whatever those women had called her. "I haven't seen her. There's way too many punks here to recognize in a couple of hours, though, so that ain't sayin' anything. Better not give up on her now, got it?"

She glanced at the bulletin for another moment or two before deciding she was done with it. "Name's Shiba Kuukaku."

"Nice to meet you..." Touya said, not exactly sure how nice this would be. Kuukaku seemed to have a rather fiery personality--he wouldn't be surprised if her brother actually was trying to hide from her.

"Yeah I uh, I'm not going to give up on her, but the last time I saw her things were pretty bad. But I'm alright and my other friend's alright, I just haven't seen or heard from her today. I mean, she's just a kid."

He had a million other worries concerning her, but he wasn't about to expand on them in front of someone he'd just met.

"So are you new here, or looking for him after the zombie attack?"
