Dayshift 42: Tasty Burger - Afternoon
After lunch, Kanji had just decided to stay sitting at the table and slowly finish off his soda while he tried to think of something productive he could do while he had the chance here in town. ...Ah, who was he fooling? He had no clue what the hell to do. His senpai probably had a list of things they could all be doing while in town. Investigating stuff or mapping the landscape or gathering information from the townspeople or... something like that. But Kanji had no clue how to go about any of those things. He had the observational skills of a rock and him walking around trying to talk to everyone wouldn't end well.
But even he knew he couldn't just sit here, slurping on his soda all day. He just needed to think of something. Yeah. Something.

Well, most of them, anyway. Shame about the human from this morning...
"Mmmmm, yes, I was a soldier. A fairly good one, or at least that's what they told me." ZEX leered at him, and his tone didn't seem appropriate for matters of war. "But that was a long time ago, and I'm much more... friendly now." Still leering, although for a moment he got a questioning look. "What is a 'Germany'?" Perhaps some human term for a quadrant in the galaxy?

He honestly had no idea what the hell he should do. This never happened before! That was... with anyone, guy or girl. Not really, anyway. But it was a guy this time. And... What the hell?! Why was this even happening?! He was just sitting here talking about Germany! Nothing special about that! Kanji was a bit too mentally panicked to consider how strange ZEX's question was. "W-Well. Um. It's... this country... that, um..."
Okay, he couldn't just continue the conversation like nothing was happening. Especially when the guy was still looking at him like that. He held up a hand in rushed 'wait, wait!' kind of gesture. "L-Look. I, um... It's not like... I mean, I don't..."

A country, hmm? Then this human was still talking about Sol then. Kanji probably hadn't achieved interstellar flight either, like so many of the humans here. Such a shame! But certainly no obstacle to a meaningful relationship as far as ZEX was concerned...
Oh? The human seemed to be offering him his hand. Well, if he was holding it out like that, surely he wanted ZEX to take it? ZEX reached out for it, still smiling at him in a somewhat creepy way.
"Mmmm, what's wrong, human?" Thick with innuendo. "You don't think I'm going to hurt you, do you?" Perish the thought.

He probably would have flipped out completely if it wasn't for that lone 'human' comment. That was enough to give Kanji slight pause so he could do something like stop and think. Even if he was just even more confused.
"H-Human?" he repeated still taken aback by the whole situation. "Wha... What're you talkin' about?"
Yes. Talk about that. Talk about something else. Do something that's not giving him that look and making him feel like his face was burning.

As usual, ZEX preferred to think of himself as the wronged party. The human could be as shy as he liked! ZEX could be very patient... even if Kanji seemed abnormally (as much as any human activity could be considered more abnormal than the rest) alarmed at the moment. Perhaps not prepared for the intensity of his feelings towards ZEX? He could be overwhelming at first.
"Hee! Hee! Hee!" One had to be patient, after all. "You, human, of course! Who else would I be talking about?" Smiling at him too widely again. "Unless you're not human either?" Entirely possible, given the bodies everyone was changed into when they came here.
Although, not being human didn't change the fact that they both still had human bodies, and those bodies could still be used in... interesting ways...

Was he really being serious? Was he saying he wasn't human? So what, did that mean he was like Teddie? Some being from some other dimension who came here and got a human body somehow?
....Actually, you know what? That would explain a lot right now.
That sudden realization calmed Kanji down quite a bit, and he managed to relax at least a little. There was something about other dimension people that made them talk and act like, well, this guy. "No. I'm... I'm plenty human." He scratched the back of his neck distractedly, trying to get over his stupid overreaction. "I just... didn't realize you weren't. Um, so what are you... exactly?"

"Oh? That's good." Still leering at him. "That means you know how to use that body of yours." It was so easy to smile when he didn't have to think about it. "I'm still learning myself. It can be very tricky... I find having a good teacher to be very useful."
ZEX giggled again. "Hee! Hee! Hee! I told you before, I'm a VUX. But I suppose you don't know what that is, do you? It seems very few people here do." It did get rather tiresome after a while. ZEX kept smiling. "Then again... perhaps you will... mmmm, surprise me."
