Dayshift 42: Crossroaders Bar and Casino - Noon
It was when she first got off the bus that Rangiku noticed something amiss. It took her a moment to realise what was wrong, she'd become so used to having him around that she'd never even thought... But not, he was... Gin was gone. It caught the breath in her throat in shock. She didn't even need to ask the nurse, reiatsu didn't lie, although she asked anyway, only to be told that he had been released.
Rangiku had just walked off.
Ichimaru Gin would never have just been released. He'd been so certain last night, so confident, and that would not have changed with the coming of morning. They'd done something to him and she intended to make them pay.
When she'd finally regained her composure (although there were no tears; she wouldn't cry for him, it would feel like a betrayal), she headed into the town, finding the bar with little trouble. It was smoky inside and dim and Rangiku headed straight for the bar, ignoring the looks from some of the patrons as she swung herself onto a bar stool. Information, perhaps that she could do.
[Free, Limit; any]

It took some wandering around, quite lost, but Kenpachi eventually found the bar. If he couldn't fight, at least he might be able to get something to drink. The coupons didn't mention anything about a free drink, but there was always a chance he could bully some of the townspeople into it. Unless they were in on it, too, which would just plain suck.
It wasn't difficult to spot Rangiku. There weren't many women out there with her assets, so he spotted her at the bar quite quickly, even through the smoke.
"Yo, Matsumoto Rangiku," Kenpachi grunted as he strode across the room towards her. The smoke and lighting clouded his vision just enough that he didn't notice the serious look on her face until he got up to the bar. "Yer lookin' a bit serious to be in a bar. What's up, the bartender not serving to us?"

It was a long shot, going to the bar when there was almost no chance that he could get booze out of it. But Xigbar had a secret weapon- his pokeball, still considered a toy and still firmly capable of smuggling contraband within its metal shell. He'd made his way here with no thought as to how to form a plan... but one came up as soon as he laid eyes on someone.
That someone being Rangiku, and a rather terrifying man who was with her. He went right up to the both of them, apparently breaking into a private conversation with no concern at all about the repercussions. "Yo, Rangiku, and your friend here, too."
Just like Kenpachi, he noticed that the
hottest chick in the InstituteRangiku wasn't exactly bright and chipper, but he didn't say anything about it. Xigbar was of the 'do something about it' school of thought. Assuming that the terrifying beyond all reason man didn't put the brakes on that plan.no subject
And Xigbar too hm? He got a more genuine smile, although it was still paler than her usual. "Xigbar. Good to see you agaian," she said. "We poor alcohol deprived souls."

He glanced at the other man who had approached Rangiku. Xigbar, eh? Didn't ring a bell. "Zaraki Kenpachi," he said as he sized up the man. The eyepatch and the scar were definite pluses - this was obviously a man who'd seen his fair share of fights and could most likely hold his own. He didn't need Schuldig to tell that.

That, and he had to add, "An' if there's some story time, it should be over something more'n water. So, how about we nab some?" He'd done it before, this would be a cakewalk. And if they could manage that, then this little party of three would get a lot more cheery.

Probably.
"I'm always up for a good drink," she said with a smile and then lowered her voice. "Please try not to get us thrown out hm?"

The scowl on his face confirmed just how annoyed he was, that these weird creatures were able to limit him to such a point that they could prevent him from fighting. A superior foe he could understand...but creatures able to imprison him in such a way? He had no means to cope.
Alcohol sounded like a good start, though.

When people came into his bar, Mathers made sure to take note of them. But when said people were those crazy gits up on the hill? They usually weren't worth his time. Thus, the proprietor that everyone knew as Old Man Mathers had been hanging out in the back, watching, but leaving well enough alone.
However, the moment he heard someone mention the words 'drink' and 'thrown out,' the man emerged. There was a towel hung over his shoulder and a cigarette hanging from his lips to complement the suspicious look on his face. "Well?" he asked gruffly. "You have money or you just here to gawk?"

Of course, all of this was dependent on the two of them being able to keep Old Dude from casting his gaze over to Xigbar for that critical second. The Nobody hopped up when Mathers started moving towards them and started moving to the side- so that if Mathers was looking at the two other people, he couldn't look at Xigbar directly. That was the hope, anyway.
As he did so, he simply grumbled under his breath, "'s not right, not gettin' booze..." Just something that was expected to say, nothing important to talk about. Preferably, Rangiku could then grab attention and make things work. Fingers crossed!

Kenpachi remained quiet as he let Rangiku work her magic. Keep him distracted? Oh, Kenpachi could do that. He was an imposing enough figure that most people tended to stare at him anyways; however, Rangiku was obviously trying...something...with her womanly womanness. It was a level of subtlety he wasn't comfortable with, but if it got him booze, why the hell not?
And if Rangiku's attempts failed, he could always go with a more direct route.
