Night 41: M01-10 Hallway
[in M7]
Hanatarou had managed to choke down about half of his dinner before finally giving up and pushing the tray away. With a glance back at Sora to make sure his roommate wasn't looking, he'd opened the closet door to get his uniform and started to change; he thought that if he was going to act like a healer he could at least look like one. Right?
He was just settling his pack in place when the intercom went off, and he gave a startled glance back toward the speaker. The announcement was creepy and disturbing as usual, but considering that he was already a bundle of nerves as it was...well, there wasn't really a visible impact on him. There were supposed to be two people - two strangers - coming by to be healed, and he hoped that he'd be able to help them.
The healer paused for a moment, staring blankly at the imitation Hisagomaru in the corner of the closet before finally deciding to leave it there for the time being. He'd have to see how he felt after trying to heal two people before deciding what he was going to do next.

At the thanks he stammered to a halt and just ducked his head a little in something resembling a nod, with a mumbled, "You're welcome." It wasn't as though he'd done that much, but...he'd already been told several times not to stop apologizing for it. Not by these two, but still.
Fortunately there was something to distract him, and he quickly turned toward Nataku, reaching out to stop him. "Oh, it's...don't worry, I don't need to see. I'll, um, do what I can and then you can take them off..."
no subject
"You need any help, Nataku?" he asked, giving the younger god a concerned look as he tried to unwrap the bandages. He wasn't sure how badly his arm was injured but there was no way that it couldn't hurt.

When Hana's fingers rested lightly on his arm, he stopped trying to unwrap the bandages and looked up at the other boy. "...Oh." His face felt warm again but he smiled. "Ok, thanks." He just let his arm rest against his knee. "Is this alright?"
As long as it was stationary, it didn't hurt as much. He glanced over at Kenren too. The look on his face made Nataku pause a moment, but he shook his head. "I'm alright. Don't worry."

He held his hands hand just above Nataku's arm, eyes losing focus as though he were looking through it and into the fracture; as he concentrated the green glow slowly reappeared, and he focused his reiatsu on healing the bone. This was far more difficult than the relatively simple burns had been, and his brow creased and eyes halfway closed as he worked.

It was his turn to watch curiously as Hanatarou began the healing. The green glow again and although he couldn't see any change, he knew what the feeling of it would be like now.

That wasn't necessarily true for all of them though. Had he been wrong to judge Sanzo so soon, or was it Goku who had misjudged this time? Neither of them had been trying to kill last night. Maybe he should try once more. Later. It could simply be the strange sort of peace that had settled over him.
Nataku sat very still while Hanatarou worked, not wanting to disrupt his concentration and cause him further pain. Like Kenren, he couldn't see exactly what was being done but he could feel the pain fading as his arm healed. As curious as he was about the light, he kept an eye on the healer, too. Doing so much in one night couldn't be easy.

That wasn't what Hanatarou wanted, though, so he pushed a little more, trying to heal it just that tiny bit more. Unfortunately, that was just too much for him - the pain in his head spiked sharply as he tried to draw upon too much power, and his vision went black as he slowly toppled forward onto his patient.

He looked up at Nataku apologetically. "Help me get him laid down?"
no subject
Nataku shifted to sit on the edge of the bed and touched his shoulder. "Hanatarou?"
He was still breathing, obviously, so he was probably ok...right? He bit the inside of his lip and looked up at Kenren. "What should we do? Is he going to be ok?"

[he's out for a bit; feel free to just skip him ♥]

They really did have things to do, as Kenren gently reminded him, so it was probably best that they got going before night ended. There were some drawbacks to making plans. "Is it ok to leave him alone like this?"

"I know we have things to do tonight." He replied, focused on his drawing. "I just don't want him to wake up alone. Not after he worked so hard. He should at least know it was dumb to push himself until he passed out." And that they appreciated it regardless. And that they saw him as more than just a useful thing. Maybe they didn't need to say thank you again, but Nataku believed in deeds over words - the least he could do was wait.

"You're right," kenren agreed easily, perching on the end of the bed. It would be pretty crappy to just leave him sleeping like this.

The movement jerked the healer awake again, though he was caught in momentary confusion between dream and reality: his fingers found something other than a butterfly and the darkened room wasn't quite what he was expecting. He blinked a couple of times, not quite comprehending what he was seeing just yet.

He paused when Hanatarou started to wake up. He'd just put the finishing touches on the last doodle anyway - more accurately, the last in a small cluster of mushrooms.
Though he angled the pen away from Hanatarou's face in case he decided to sit up suddenly, he didn't even try to hide what he'd been doing. It wasn't like he could pull his hand out of Hanatarou's without the boy noticing. "Hey, Hanatarou. Feeling better now?" He tapped the healer's cheek lightly with the back of the pen. "You were asleep so long mushrooms grew on your face."

He struggled to sit a little more upright, wincing slightly as the movement reminded him of his headache (which fortunately had lessened while he'd been asleep, for however long that had lasted), and glanced between the pair. "Comman...what? But, Kira-fukutaichou..."
Although if Kira hadn't arrived yet, was he going to? Had something maybe happened to him, or had plans changed, or...Hanatarou had no idea, and expected he'd be the last to be told about anything of that sort anyway. If these two needed a healer for something, maybe it would be best if he went with them?
no subject
He frowned a little. "And I didn't get to say thanks for healing my arm. So," He prodded Hanatarou in the forehead with the back of the pen. "Next time don't push yourself so hard you pass out, ok? If you do it again you might wake up with a whole forest of mushrooms on your face."

He flinched a little in automatic reaction to the tap against his forehead, but only blinked at Nataku for a moment before managing to summon up a small smile again. "You're welcome?" The comments about mushrooms were making him curious and wishing he had a mirror, it was true, but somehow he didn't get the feeling there was anything malicious about Nataku at all.

He hopped off the bed, double checking his pockets for the pair of scalpels and the note Ritsuka had left him. That would do for tonight except for one little thing.
He glanced at Kenren. "I didn't bring anything to carry the metal in."
no subject
He kept the gun in his hand for now and looked over at Nataku. "Hey, Hanatarou, mind if we borrow some pillowcases?"
no subject
If they were going to be leaving the room, though, he had his own preparations to make. The healer pushed to his feet again, hesitating a moment at a brief spell of light-headedness, and moved over to his closet. "Pillowcases?" he asked, blinking back at the other two. "Oh. Um. No?" They'd be replaced in the morning anyway, if past experience was any indication.
He turned back to the closet again then, pulling his sword out of the back corner and carefully sliding it into place at his waist. Hopefully he'd have no need to attempt to use it tonight, but it was best to be prepared.
