Night 41: F11-20 Hallway
[F15]
As usual, the doctor's announcement was vague and led her nowhere as far as figuring out what his intentions were went, but definitely foreboding. There was no way to tell what exactly he had in mind when he was cutting himself off like that among all the static, which was frustrating, but ... she supposed sooner or later, they would all see what would happen-- if it did.
For now, however, Naoto knew there were other important things she had to wait for, so the riddle can be further sat on later. Setting her journal back on the desk, she went to prop the door to the room open and sat back on the edge of her bed, then set the flashlight up to give the best lighting around the room she could get it to. Anyone else wouldn't be wandering around the pitch black halls without their own light, but Naoto figured it would be best if those dropping by could see easily in the room, as well.
Now, all there was to do was wait. She didn't care when in the night her radio delivery came in, but she wanted Yousuke and Kanji to hurry. There was a lot to talk about, and Naoto didn't want any of this time wasted.

Re: F15
She couldn't imagine what it must have been like for the seemingly perpetually cheerful kid, or her father ... or her cousin. This kidnapper had gone way too far.
"Of course," Naoto responded to Kanji, her voice surprisingly level considering how she felt about the news. "... There is no use worrying ourselves over it here, and as you said, Senpai should still be at home."
But then she shot a look at Adachi, conveying displeasure for a variety of reasons. "You are highly mistaken-- age is certainly not a factor in this situation." Naoto paused, taking a breath; she was being much sharper than she needed to be. "We are capable enough if we're equipped properly; that goes for all of us." Especially us, Naoto thought, and she had to refrain from giving another one of her looks at the thought of having to rely on Adachi for protection. There was no way he could face any monster on his own. "I will have to disagree with you, Adachi-san, and if possible getting a means of defense for everyone would be best."
Re: F15
Of course he didn't want them being armed. The advantage they had at the moment was that from the time Adachi had been pulled from he wouldn't know what they were capable of at all. Sure, he might know they went into the TV and rescued those that were thrown in, and he might have even watched them fight, but he'd yet to face off against them himself. Yousuke needed to get his hands on a solid pair of wrenches, or a couple kitchen knives. They had to have things like that somewhere in this place. They were common enough.
"Guns probably won't be an option," he said out loud. "Adachi-san" and Naoto "will have to improvise." Then, in an effort to force out some of his usual easy-going demeanor, he nodded towards one of the desks. "How do these chairs look to you, Kanji?" Would they break too easily if one was to, say, crack them over the head of a certain detective?
Re: F15
He shot the guy a dirty look that said about as much, before turning back toward Yousuke. He looked at the chair in the room for a moment before answering. "Prol'y good enough to use for a fight. Not like they'll snap or nothing. Might be a pain in the ass to get them through some 'a the doorways, though."
He wasn't really sure. Hospitals usually had big hallways and wide doors for things like stretchers. But there were always little hallways and doorways, too. He didn't know enough to predict what kind of spaces they were dealing with here.
He turned to shoot another look at Adachi, but instead ended up focusing on the blond girl. ...What about this one? He didn't know her or anything, but she didn't exactly strike him as much of a fighter. They could all handle themselves, but she definitely didn't look like she would last in a brawl without some kind of weapon. Maybe even with one. Then again, Naoto didn't look like a physical fighter, but she could kick more ass than this prick cop.
"What about you, huh?" he shot in her direction. "You alright with weapons? Should probably get one anyway, but..." It was said more blunt than rude. Everyone should be getting weapons, but it would probably be better to know if she or anyone else couldn't handle themselves in a fight. That way, he'd know who to jump in for.
Re: F15
What was more irritating was how Misa of all people agreed with them. The woman wasn't supposed to agree with them! Besides, what was with that Kira bullshit? Had he found some kind of religious nut? All she was supposed to do was sit back and let him take care of things, and to only really be useful when he needed her to hold over Hanamura's head.
Who'd gone and brought up his lack of a gun. That little fucker! "B-but...!" he started, then paused. Arguing wouldn't get him anywhere. Might even make them wonder why he was so adamant that they not fight. Adachi gave a sigh, trying to keep the irritation inaudible. Well, at least I didn't get ordered for babysitting detail again. I can always leave them to rot.
"Looks like it's otherwise a unanimous vote," he spoke up again, looking around at the brats. "If that's how you kids see it, then that's how we'll do it. Just don't tell your folks when we get back, okay?" He sure as hell didn't need more people after his ass for something stupid and unavoidable. He looked over at Misa then. "If they're all getting themselves armed, then you probably should, too. I can help you out with that, if you want," he offered, forcing back that easy smile. "I'm pretty good at improvising." If he couldn't prevent her from agreeing with them, the least he could do was get himself familiar with just what sort of weapon she ended up with.
Re: F15
She turned, then, to look at everyone else in turn. It was...really impressive that everyone else could fight, and she couldn't hide the look on her face that said it clearly. Once she'd done that, she turned back to Adachi, looking at him with another nod. "Unless there's something like that around here, I don't see what other choice people have. But I will stay close to someone with one, promise. And if you're good at that kind of thing, with getting weapons and all that, I'd appreciate the help," she said, with a smile.
I wish Light was here. But...at least I can say I have people looking out for me.
Re: F15
Kanji seemed to be well off right away, but she figured he wouldn't be hard to please; his way of handling the fights were somewhat unorthodox, but if the methods worked, then Naoto was all for it. Anything to get them better prepared. After pausing to think, she then turned towards her upperclassmen; "Hanamura-senpai, I have received word a few days ago that there is an upstairs kitchen with knives," she explained. "Perhaps that may suitably fit your needs."
But he was right on one thing, and she wouldn't be able to obtain a revolver here. This was going to be tricky ... What could she use effectively?
Re: F15
All the same, the humored thoughts didn't last long. Misa reminded Yousuke just a bit of Saki, and that comparison was enough for him to very suddenly not want her in the middle of combat. That's what everyone else was here for, to protect those that couldn't protect themselves. He knew even as he thought this that he shouldn't be making these comparisons. It wasn't good for him - especially not now when he had Adachi practically holding every innocent hostage.
"Well, kitchen knives aren't well-made kunai, but they'll do." He smirked a bit. "Did you plan on splitting up and heading anywhere tonight, or are we playing it safe for now?" With him in the current position that he was, and because Naoto had been there before the rest of them, Yousuke found himself automatically placing her in the role of leader.
Re: F15
Kanji himself fell into silence. He wasn't much for making decisions for a bunch of people who weren't him. If it were up to him, they'd be kicking in every door in the damn building looking for this Martin guy. But if that were the best move, someone probably would have said it already. Nah, he was resolved to go along with whatever the group decided and then give it his all. He was fine just playing the muscle. That was what a real man did, right? And so he simply shifted gaze from one person to another, observing them all and looking ready to go no matter what.
Re: F15
What a headache. Adachi could worry about that later. All he really needed to know was that the brat would probably at least have some idea of what he was doing with those knives. Well, that and if he really needed to use Misa against Hanamura, he probably wouldn't have any problems; and maybe, if he was lucky, he could get something else from her, for his troubles. He gave her a nod, thinking to himself don't worry, I'll take good care of you.
Of course, Adachi wasn't too sure he wanted Shirogane telling them what to do (again), but since she knew the most about this place, he definitely wanted to hear it. After that, he'd check up with them if he needed to, but he sure didn't plan on sticking around. He wasn't too worried about Hanamura spilling anything, and even if he did, it'd probably be easy to tell if at least Tatsumi knew. He'd deal with that when he came to it.
"Unless you kids already have a game plan for taking on the guy in charge, my vote goes for playing it safe," he spoke up. "There's probably still a lot more to hear about this place that she could tell us."
Re: F15
"I think I've said everything I know about this place," she said, curling her hair around her finger and leaning back a little more against the wall. "So if anyone else knows a little more, I'm all ears. I mean, especially if it means getting home a little faster," she said, nodding to Naoto. It was probably going to be a lot of the same stuff that Matsu had said that morning, but there was always the chance of picking up a little something extra.
