So they did take Nanako. Naoto made a deep frown; it wouldn't have taken much to notice the mere thought of it happening angered her. To take someone of their age or older was one thing-- in her own case, the detective had even baited herself for it to occur-- but a child ... an innocent child, unassociated with the case at all, taken and forced to be trapped inside that twisted world ...

She couldn't imagine what it must have been like for the seemingly perpetually cheerful kid, or her father ... or her cousin. This kidnapper had gone way too far.

"Of course," Naoto responded to Kanji, her voice surprisingly level considering how she felt about the news. "... There is no use worrying ourselves over it here, and as you said, Senpai should still be at home."

But then she shot a look at Adachi, conveying displeasure for a variety of reasons. "You are highly mistaken-- age is certainly not a factor in this situation." Naoto paused, taking a breath; she was being much sharper than she needed to be. "We are capable enough if we're equipped properly; that goes for all of us." Especially us, Naoto thought, and she had to refrain from giving another one of her looks at the thought of having to rely on Adachi for protection. There was no way he could face any monster on his own. "I will have to disagree with you, Adachi-san, and if possible getting a means of defense for everyone would be best."
