Nightshift 38: Recreational Field
[from here]
She almost wished that she hadn't went last night. Because standing in this field again, in the same place she had been when she felt Hitsugaya die, was surreal. There was no one out here this time--no people, no kids, no mourning Shinigami, no virgin-eating birds. Just the chilly wind. She wrapped her arms around herself, shifting her flashlight and spear.
Senna moved close next to the buliding, hiding in the shadows and peering upwards. No birds so far. Maybe they'd be lucky. That guy better not show her up. Though she had to admit, wearing her Shinigami uniform was a lot warmer than the stupid outfit they gave everybody. And at least there was no more damn smiley face staring at her.
[Waiting for Reid down here.]

Junpei ran, huffing and puffing as he got closer to the building, which looked more like a storage shed. He didn't care what it was; it wasn't going to have any evil zombie dogs in it. Well, it better not. Stupid nightmare with the ick and the creepy and the foreboding and the monsters running around outside the Dark Hour.
A glance behind him showed the zombie dog closer than he thought it'd been. He picked up his pace a little, unable to help the shriek that accompanied it.
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!"
When he got close enough, Junpei tucked the flashlight under his arm and lowered his shoulder, ramming it into the door with the full force of his charge. There was a creaking noise and a moment of resistance before the door burst open, Junpei losing his footing as his momentum carried him into the shed.

It didn't quite manage to halt completely in time and struck the door, staggering back a step before turning a baleful glare at the barrier between it and Junpei. With a bark and a hungry growl it finally turned away, then paused, ears pricking, before it turned away and loped off into the darkness again.

Junpei carefully crept out of the shed, baseball bat at the ready just in case Evil Koro-chan decided to come eat his face again. Stepping a bit out from the shed, he looked around, finding his attention drawn to the sight of some chick with really pink hair fighting Evil Koro-chan and OH MY GOD, WHAT THE HELL WAS WRONG WITH HER ARM?!?
Junpei took a half-step back, blinking his eyes. When he looked again, the chick-who-used-to-be-kinda-hot's arm was perfectly fine. What the hell, man? What the hell?
While he was contemplating the possibility that he'd imagined the whatever her arm had been before, he saw her grab Evil Koro-chan's corpse and drag it and something else to the side. He suddenly froze in horror, mouth hanging open, as she started eating Evil Koro-chan.

Dude, that just wasn't right. It was creepy and gross and sure Evil Koro-chan had been evil and tried to eat Junpei's face, but it was still Koro-chan. On mutated steroids. Or Fuuka's cooking.
Screw going back to the door he'd come through. That meant he'd have to go by her and what if she decided to eat him? Then it got really cold, some mist rolling in, so Junpei decided the best course of action was to just scale the wall to the side.
A moment longer of staring at the mist-shrouded form of the zombie-dog eating chick and a cold shudder went up the back of his spine. He was out of there.
