The dog that had been there hadn't gone very far, and the sight of another standing alone in the middle of the field was far too tempting for it to pass up.

Its lighter fur gave it away quickly as it charged out of the shadows into the field toward Argilla - but just behind it came one of its packmates, an inky black wolflike creature who seemed no less fierce or hungry.
