Nightshift 39: West Wing, Hall 2-A

[from here]

After a short rest, Chise got up and once again walked into another dark hallway. She started questioning herself whether she was heading in the right direction or not. If only she had a map! Maybe she could ask for one tomorrow.

Walking down the hallway she saw three sets of doors. There was a possibility that one of them led to a balcony. She tried to open the first door, but realized that it was locked. Then, she noticed that the door was labeled "Medical Research Library". Definitely not the right one. She moved onto the next set of doors which turned out to be the male and female restrooms. She was just about to head back when her flashlight caught sight of another door at the end of the hallway. This time, it read "Staff-Only Outdoor Patio Lounging", and to her surprise, it wasn't locked. Score one for Chise!

Now all she needed to do was test if she can connect to a network and find Shuji.

Stalking down the next hallway, Jason ignored the doors he passed. He didn't remember what each room was but when he'd looked at the map earlier in the day they hadn't registered as anything worth checking out. What he wanted was at the end of the hall.

He kept moving, doing his best to remain alert in case something did try and jump them. There hadn't been any trouble so far but that could always change.

Wesker gave no reaction to the rude behavior. It was typical teenage behavior, to not show respect or even common courtesy to others. While irritating, it was tolerable for the time being. Although if they continued to work together Jason was going to need to work on his attitude.

"I was a medical doctor. Not the type that treated patients, though. I primarily did research." The truth was the best kind of lie. True but misleading, most people tended to trust Doctors, though the opposite was the case for the Doctor's at this facility. Wesker wondered if Jason would ask the obvious follow-up question.

He didn't mind answering these questions, Wesker had told these lies countless times before.

"Yeah? You experiment on yourself?" Jason asked bluntly. He saw no point in dancing around the topic. He already knew Wesker wasn't a normal human and that whatever abilities he had weren't something he'd been born with. It was pretty safe bet there had been some experimentation performed on the man, willingly or otherwise. Could explain his thing about being in the business of closing these sorts of places down.

Ed continued down the hallway, heading quickly towards where he and Adel had been the other night. Hopefully no-one would have ransacked the place first. He doubted that they'd be bothered with the juice and fruit and biscuits, but the metal might have gone. He'd have to see.

After he pulled the girl through the door Wesker closed it behind him and began to quickly grab and crush as many of the small reptiles that had latched onto himself as he good. "Crush them, don't rip them off if they're biting, you'll just cause more damage that way," Wesker instructed, moving away from the door with the girl as he got rid of the insects.
