Nightshift 38: Equipment/Chemical Storage

[from here]

Renamon swung the door around, moving instantly to the closest blue cabinet. "Yellow cabinets hold many kinds of chemicals, and containers like the one I have. Blue ones hold things more of a scientifical nature." She pulled out an entire box of scalpels, placing it carefully in her case. "Also? Things that can be used as weapons."

That being said, she added a few pairs of large scissors as well. Those could be made into the knives that Jiraiya carried.

Jiraiya nodded at her explanation, then stepped forward to inspect one of the yellow cabinets. He didn't take out any of the chemicals immediately, just worked on memorizing what was there. It'd be useful to Sakura, anyways, or to someone who knew how to make these chemicals especially dangerous.

Speaking of Sakura, Jiraiya frowned slightly. "Sakura could probably use a few items for her med-pack. With her chakra limited, she may have to resort to more traditional means... I'll have to ask her what she needs."

After all, having a medic made a team stronger and more likely to survive anything they went up against, but a medic needed the right tools. Right now, though, he decided he was going to get himself a case like Renamon had.

He closed the cabinet and went over to inspect a blue cabinet that Renamon hadn't opened. "Magnifying glasses? That's a bit... random. The normal ones aren't very useful for surgery, unless you have an assistant that can hold absolutely still...."

"She would work there--if her team wasn't already present. It's better to have a medic with a team, in case of injury," Jiraiya stated, finally pulling out two boxes of scalpels to place into his case. "It raises their chances of success and lowers the chance of someone dying. When someone's critically injured, every moment counts."

Jiraiya stated his opinion as if there wasn't any doubt that it was the right one.

"Hmm..." he thought for a moment, then added in some of the large scissors, then surgical spatulas--the handles would be useful for make-shift knives, and grabbed a magnifying glass for the hell of it. "Small first aid kids would be a good idea. Teams still have to travel back to the clinic before they can get treatment, and there wouldn't be enough time if someone was bleeding out...."

It was just a thought, really. Tonight, they'd be focused on gathering supplies. Maybe another night he could work towards that effort--and perhaps with Renamon, if she was interested. There were possibilities with that.

"I'm ready," Jiraiya stated, closing the cabinet back up before picking up his case.
