Nightshift 38: West Wing, North Hall 1-B

from here

Now, if Teisel were a sixties-numbered room, where would he be? It shouldn't be too far away. He only had two directions to go in from here. Farther down the hall were women's rooms, if he remembered the nameplates right. The rooms were probably arranged in a grid, so...

No sense standing around. He had a fifty-fifty chance of going the right way, so he might as well go...to the right? Why not.

"Normally, I like to sleep at night," Of course, Steve had been in plenty of situations where he'd needed to carry out an operation at night, or go without sleep, "But this seems to be a normal night here." Unfortunately being awake during the day and being awake at night was going to have an impact. Steve never felt rested when he 'woke up' in bed.

It was hard to say what 'normal' was for this place. If there was such a thing.

"Sleep at night? Really? I didn't think anyone still did that," Tony replied. His puzzlement was feigned, but there was some truth in the jest; he wasn't really on speaking terms with normal hours. It should have been an advantage, if only a minimal one, but the entire situation led to dragging weariness and frustration.

The lack of coffee didn't help.

He headed through the still-open doors halving the hallway, squinting at the gloom ahead.
