Nightshift 38: M-B Block Hallway

[From here]

Aside from his own footsteps, it was completely silent when Tyki slipped into the next hallway. Not that he'd particularly minded or anything. At least he wouldn't be held up by some bothersome monsters this way.

The Noah only paused to lit a cigarette before heading towards the next door. Thankfully their meeting spot wasn't on the other side of the building, because that would have been a waste on playing time.

Kurogane hadn't been standing still since he'd wanted to move quickly, but that was soon fixed as the voice caught his attention. It wasn't a loud call, but Kurogane knew it was directed towards him, and he turned towards the boy and looked him over. A uniform. That was grounds for more trust than if he'd been wearing something else (as though Kurogane was one to talk), but it did not mean Kurogane was simply going to trust whoever he came across completely.

"Out," he grunted, then turned to go. Either the boy was a threat, or he was new. That left Kurogane a few options. "I'm busy. If you can't fight, go back to your room and just stay there. If you can and want answers from me, then you better be able to keep up."

Since the boy had been smart enough not to shout his question, Kurogane could deduce that he had some experience with combat or at least stealth. And since Kurogane wasn't about to stop and give a "welcome to hell" lecture, the kid could make his own decision and keep up if he wanted or could. If he couldn't, then he should go back to his room anyway.

A smirk crossed his face as the guy said 'out' like that, and he gave a nod. He'd been about to ask another question, but the man was already turning to leave. He looked older, like maybe he should be a special jounin or something, but he was starting to cotton on that the people here weren't like the people at home. His roommate had proven that much.

He moved alongside the tall man for a moment, encouraged by the way he said that he should go back to his room if he couldn't fight, if he wanted answers he should keep up. The smirk got wider, and he fell into stride with the man, "I can fight. My normal methods seem to be a bit fucked up, but I can do hand to hand still."

This guy seemed capable, at the least, like he knew what he was doing - Kankurou was just lucky, wasn't he? Happening to find someone who had a destination. Dark eyes flicked back and forth as he moved alongside the man.

"Out is where I'm looking to get." he said, his voice still low, "I just woke up here, but the guy in my room explained that the halls here aren't exactly safe at night."
