Day 38: Game Room

She’d never been in the Game Room before.

It didn’t look spectacularly interesting, she had to admit… but it’d be more fun than just hanging out in the Sun Room, right? Yuffie idly thumbed through a deck of cards, walking around the room to examine various bits and pieces. Board games, video games, chess… No really awesome prank material that she could see, but maybe she could rope somebody into a game of poker? That could be fun, but… ah, then again, most of the patients were just like her -- they didn’t have anything really cool that she could swindle out of them. Not until Nightshift, anyway.

Still! She’d keep it in mind. It wasn’t like there was anybody else in the room yet anyway, so any potential swindling would have to wait a little while. What could she do in the meantime, huh? Pick- pocketing a nurse could be fun..! Wait -- no, not when it was quiet like this. She’d have to wait until there was more cover, unless she got distracted. Yuffie hadn’t stolen anything in days, not since that time in Doyleton, with the Kaito kid…

Yuffie smirked. That had been fun.

Sora was surprised to feel a hand at his back. People usually weren't so physical here, but he certainly didn't mind as he turned around to a familiar face. Sora could never quite get past how much shorter Junior was than him, but he knew better than to comment on anything like that. After all, he'd already found out from the boy that he was older than he looked, so it would be pretty mean to start rubbing it in his face. Sora knew how much he disliked it when people judged him because of his age.

"Hey, long time no see!" he replied with a grin, suddenly letting all of his worries fall to the side (temporarily) now that he was reminded of yet another friend who was still here.

"How've you been?" he asked, looking the boy up and down for any injuries. He didn't spot much of anything, and so he quickly glanced away in search of a place for them to sit. He motioned toward a couch. "Want to sit down?" They probably had some catching up to do!

Sora seemed to be doing okay, at least, and didn't really seem to be injured. Good. Junior hadn't really seen what the boy was capable of, but he was good enough to keep himself out of harm's way.

"Sounds good to me," the redhead replied, heading over toward the couch. He was half-tempted to grab a deck of cards along the way and give them a toss, just to keep his hands occupied while he talked with Sora, but he couldn't really.

Maybe he could try to nab a deck some night and practice in his room.

"Anyway, I've been pretty good," he finally said, nodding. "Same old story, probably. Working with a club at night." Junior felt kind of bad, really, that there wasn't anything particularly interesting that he had to share, but it was all pretty much surviving the day or surviving the night. It got to be kind of a depressing conversation topic sometimes, probably even moreso for a kid who'd been around as long as Sora had.

At least he hadn't lost any more memories here so far, from what he could remember. "What about you?"

Falling down onto the couch, Sora leaned against it, happy to stretch out and relax, even if only a little bit. The library didn't have many comfy chairs in it, so this was the first time today that the boy felt like he was really taking a load off.

Sora nodded, remembering when they had discussed their respective clubs before. "History Club, right?" Sora still didn't know much about that club, beyond skimming over some of their posts on the bulletin. "Has that been working out well?" He imagined it was, if Junior was still a part of it.

As for himself, Sora wasn't quite sure what to say. The past few days certainly hadn't been easy, but he didn't think it was fair to start unloading all of a sudden when Junior had probably only asked out of courtesy. He leaned forward and rubbed at the back of his neck, thinking it over.

"Uhh, it's been all right. I'm still with Arts and Crafts, though we've been losing members left and right." There, that was a way to put it that wasn't too heavy or depressing.
