Nightshift 37: West Wing, North Hall 1-B

[from here]

Only a few more hallways to go. It seemed almost too quiet, as he stepped through the hallways. That could mean that it was just early, of course, but it could mean that something was there in the shadows.

Oh, well. If there was, Akihiko would just take it down. It wasn't too much of a worry.

It felt like ages before Sync was finally able to leave the patient block, scanning either end of the hallway with his flashlight before moving his way south. Not being in the mood to go outside, the God-General decided that the best thing to do was to explore the basement. It was the other two's decision whether or not they wanted to follow him.

It was well enough for him to get the exploring done. He had no real desire to head anywhere, so why not just follow the proverbial leader? Still, he had to roll his eyes at both of the other young men. Their irritation was nearly palpable, and while normally Joshua wouldn't have minded, the fact remained that he didn't exactly have his powers to defend himself with. In the old game, that would have been an incredibly worrisome thing for Sync, but apparently such was not the case here.

Instead, he shrugged. "I did say that I wasn't going to slow you down. So unless you get it in your head to try to do me in, I don't have much to worry about. Especially when these nights seem so quiet more often than not."

"No-one is getting killed," Allelujah said coolly, a flicker of annoyance showing on his face. He didn't like Joshua particularly, but he wasn't about to let anyone get killed if he didn't have to. He had enough blood, enough children's blood on his hands to ever be complacent about adding more to it. He was well armed, considering what he had to work with and had managed to drive off that beast the other night.

"I think how quiet it is depends on where you go," he said with a shrug. "I ran into a great hulking monster a few nights back. Managed to crack a few ribs."
