Nightshift 37: F-A Block Hallway
[From here]
Turning right at the end of the corridor, Ophelia squinted in the dark, trying to remember how this area had looked in the daylight. She could somewhat see a door to the next hall down at the end, though she was only able to make it out because she knew it was supposed to be there.
Not able to hear anyone in her way up ahead, the warrior sped up her walking pace as she made her way to the door.

GLaDOS turned her flashlight on, not seeing very many other people. Her roommate had been particularly quick, then, to vanish so soon after leaving. She probably would be excellent to accompany, then; fast, dangerous, and murderous, there would be little need for her in particular to have to put herself in harm's way.
She proceeded toward the door, glancing around just in case something decided to attack - whether monster or patient.

And he was once again in the women's part of the patient blocks. Kurogane still didn't understand why he had to come over here so damn often, but when it really came down to it, Fai was to blame. Getting attached again but not admitting to it like an idiot... this was all his fault! Everything today had been his fault! First confusing little girls about... stuff, then putting glitter in his hair and finally this!
Kurogane paused a moment in the hallway to calm himself down. He wasn't going to see Fai. He wasn't. So going to Shiki's room angry wouldn't do any of them any good. When he'd calmed, he continued into the hallway towards room F16.

Sakura wasted no time, hurrying through the darkness, just as she'd been trained to do all her life. Her eyes adjusted and there were enough others getting started with their lights on that she didn't bother with hers.

It was a good sign that the hall was relatively empty. Now, the question was which way to Mitsuru's room? He flicked on the flashlight, scanning the end of each hallway for room numbers before finding the one that would lead to F35.

The container was lighter than it had been the night before and she kept up a steady pace to her destination. She knew this hallways. She just needed to move.

Renamon was almost into the female hallways when she felt something shift inside of her. Her steps staggered for a moment, and then suddenly she was visible again--not by her design. Her eyes widened, and panic froze for mind for a minute, but only that. She needed to get Yukari back to her room.

She knew where Leader's room was, she just didn't know what she was supposed to do once she got there. Like she knew! This was just frustrating.
She paused, leaning against the wall. She needed to think for a sec.

Orihime moved into the next hallway...and realized she'd forgotten the room number. Should she go back, or hurry on to the men's hallways and try to find the large group that would no doubt be waiting there? How could she forget something so important?
Luckily, her flashlight beam passed across someone familiar leaning against the wall. Orihime stopped and lowered the beam quickly. It had only been about chest-high but she didn't know how sensitive other people's night vision was and...and... Orihime willed herself to be calm. This wasn't even the hard part. She could do this. "Senna-san?"

And then she remembered that she was standing in a dark hallway. "Orihime," Senna replied, her voice trying for cheerful and failing. She dropped the act, and just asked normally. "Are you going to... the thing tonight, 'hime-chan?"

It wasn't like she knew him exactly, but him and Rukia... they were the only people besides Hitsugaya
-chanthat she recognized here really. They tied her to this place, and the Shinigami. And with Rukia gone... now Renji... if anything happened to Hitsugaya as well, she wouldn't know where she should go. Maybe she really would just leave with Demyx.Senna pushed herself off the wall and scratched at the back of her neck. "I know where Leader's room is. I'll lead you there."

This was mostly certainly not the Dark Hour. It was dark, yes, but there was no telltale difference in the lighting or the feel of the rooms. People wandered about freely, and there were no signs of sleepers in their coffins. Besides, it was nowhere near midnight. Still, there were apparently monsters about, so Chidori kept an eye out as she walked towards the meeting place.
People, she ignored entirely.

The route was so familiar by now, Yuffie was sure that she could walk it blindfolded. And with her legs tied together. With her legs tied together, tied to her wrists! … Okay, maybe that would make things a little difficult. But if it ever came up, she was confident that she’d be able to handle it just fine. She had taken the opportunity to brush up on her rope escape skills after Meteor Fall, after all.
With a purposeful, skip-in-her-step stride, Yuffie continued on. She didn’t bother with her flashlight; her eyes were adjusted well enough, and there was enough stray light from other people’s flashlights that it wasn’t necessary.

Another concern was the tone of the second intercom announcement. It came close to being the strangest to date, in her mind. She'd made out a few of the words, but a lot of them had been swallowed by static.
It couldn't mean anything good, at any rate.
Tsubaki shifted the pillow case on her shoulder, picking her way through to the door. With one hand occupied, she'd have to be extra cautious with using her flashlight. For now, she kept it tucked away.

Javert could see Mlle. Skuld's room up ahead. He kept his flashlight switched off; he knew this route well enough and it had already begun to flicker again.

The newly fashioned saber was, in a way hardly reassuring; he had rarely, if ever, had caused to use his own sword back in Paris - after all, what use was a mostly ornamental blade against crowbars and pistols? - and the weight of it in his hand was almost alien to him.
Still, he did feel a little more prepared to face whatever challenges Landel might throw at him tonight. He headed out of the F-block and into the main hallway.

...was this where she was supposed to meet him? He'd said at the end of the hall, but did that mean this one or the next one?
"Auauauu." Hanyuu bit her lip as she looked around. She couldn't see hardly anything, which really wasn't all that suprising. That was exactly why she needed a light, wasn't it?
Well, she could always go into the next hall and wait by the door, right? That seemed like a good idea, so... that's what she'd do.

Yukari, flashlight in one hand, parasol in the other, walked out into the hall. It seems most people had already left this part of the building. Giving a shrug, she headed towards where she remembered the main hall to be rather than looking into the other patient rooms; she assumed they'd be the same as her own, and while looting other patients of their possessions could be both fun and profitable, there was always the chance other patients were still in their rooms, which would just be a hassle. No, to the rest of the Institution it was!

She clicked the flashlight on as soon as she stepped outside and swept it across the floor on either side of her. Good. No monster, demon-cats here yet... Harley could only hope it would remain that way.
Carefully, she followed the hallway down as she usually did. She quickly slipped through the door that led out to the main corridors of the institute.

Man did it feel good to be in pink again! It was so much better than those ugly grey things they were forced to wear. True, it'd only been about 24 hours--give or take--since she'd been in this place, but she was seriously beginning to think she was going through color withdrawal... Was there even such a thing? Well given that she and the rest of the team had a knack for wearing their respectful color on a daily basis, maybe it was a side-effect of The Power?
...huh. She'd definitely have to remember to ask Zordon about that once she got back to Angel Grove.

F30, F30. Dean paused in the little sub-hall again to get his bearings. Door to the left was probably the women's bathroom. The branches to the right were probably more halls with the individual rooms. Dean paced up and down the length of the hall, glancing down each branch and checking out the room number plates. F30 was right on the end of the third branch, which saved him a lot of walking around trying to find the place.

Far from the sentiments of several stray thoughts Melissa picked up, the bobbing flashlight beams impeded her far more than they helped her. Each time another one crossed her vision, spasms of pain shot through her eyes and the world went completely white for a few seconds. The mindcaster ground her teeth together and squeezed her eyes into slits, anxious to move ahead of the crowds as soon as possible to avoid the light. Chapel, healing, chapel, healing... She repeated it again and again like a mantra in her head.

It seemed too good to be true, but here he was, with a bowie on his hands. It almost canceled out his busted arm. Dean paused, adjusting his hold on the knife's hilt. It didn't have that familiar feel, like he'd had years of mileage on the thing, but he'd get used to it.

Normally a person with an epitaph like 'Queen of the Night' carrying around a flashlight would be some kind of joke, which was why Evangeline was more than a little annoyed to find that her nightvision didn't seem to be working quite up to specs. You'd think she'd be used to this kind of inconvenience, but fresh ones didn't seem to bother her any less.
They also didn't seem to bother her enough for her to turn around and fetch the thing. She'd get by. She had good hearing. She had good everything. She didn't need their damn flashlight. Besides, she'd get to know the place better in its natural state. This was the smart way of doing things.
