That Clark didn't recognise the name Brainiac was both expected and appreciated; Brainiac 5 was well aware that his ancient ancestor would not encounter Clark until the Kryptonian had moved on to Metropolis and taken up the mantel of Superman, so Clark would have no reason to be distrustful of Brainiac 5 or know anything of his ancestor's role in the destruction of Krypton. Things had become... complicated... when Superman had learned that in his own dimension, he had no desire to go through those arguments again.
Brainiac 5 was somewhat pleased that he'd managed to get the hang of showering quickly enough, though Clark's presence was more helpful than the other realised, giving him an example to follow for when he found himself at a loss. The dispenser marked 'conditioner' was next from what he recalled, so he began to work a small amount of that into his hair.
"Of course," he answered with a hint of amusement. "I left Colu approximately five years ago and came to Earth, but I've visited many planets since then with the Legion. We're a group of those from other planets who have extra abilities and who use their gifts to help others," he explained, anticipating the next question.
"And while I haven't personally visited every planet within our sphere of travel, I do make sure to keep up to date with all information I can find on those and other worlds. Why? Are you interested in anywhere in particular?" He was almost one hundred percent certain what Clark was wanting to know about the most, which was also interesting. This Clark must not have encountered the records left for him by his father yet, so might not know as much about his homeplanet.
And if that were the case, how much could Brainiac 5 afford to tell him?
