Day 37: Sun Room (4th Shift)
There were still too many things on Armand's mind for him to truly relax. The morning with Alec had been a help. And seeing that TK was going to be well helped him know that it was time to work out something else, but what? He'd already, without success again, tried to reach one of the club leaders about his sole idea of something new and different. Maybe it was hopeless.
There was no way he was going to play with paper and glue like a small child, and he glared at the nurse as best he could until she gave up on the idea. There was a free chair in the Sun Room--in fact, there were many free chairs--where he settled down to see what the new patients looked like. Prisoners, not patients. He felt bad that he had to remind himself. Even if he was crazy, he wasn't going to give in to Dr. Landel's game, not today. He nibbled on an overgrown cuticle and kept an eye on the room. No dozing today.

"I'm Tokito." Tokito stretched a little, then made room for the newcomer. He'd been almost ready to doze off, full of good food and sleepy with it, but it was probably better that he hadn't--he had no idea how he'd have reacted if he'd actually fallen asleep and had someone approach him. Probably he would have lashed out, and then badness would have happened. "How new? Like, today new?"

"No, but I arrived right before the field trip and I keep hearing the last few days aren't like normal ones, so..." Tony shrugged. "That town was very weird, almost as weird as here." He extended his long legs and took up a little more room on the couch.

"Have you had any luck at night? Me and Kvothe keep getting balked. We don't have anything to fight with, and I guess neither of us are good at boxing or, uh, kung fu." He meant martial arts, of course, but he couldn't think of a better term with his limited background. He'd never really learned much about how normal people fought. He'd never needed to.

Night... blech. Lame topic. Though it sounded like at least Tokito wasn't the only one sucking. "Not really. Except mostly it's been that I start to go somewhere, and night just... ends. I wake up in my bed and it's morning. Last night was a bit better, though the guy I was with kinda got beat up." And he'd hurt the other guy pretty badly--broken his arm--but Tokito didn't want to talk about that.

"Those are the lucky nights," he said, swallowing the urge to make a disappointed noise. "My roommate got hurt last night, but not too badly. It was mostly just frustrating."
