Day 37: Sun Room (4th Shift)

There were still too many things on Armand's mind for him to truly relax. The morning with Alec had been a help. And seeing that TK was going to be well helped him know that it was time to work out something else, but what? He'd already, without success again, tried to reach one of the club leaders about his sole idea of something new and different. Maybe it was hopeless.

There was no way he was going to play with paper and glue like a small child, and he glared at the nurse as best he could until she gave up on the idea. There was a free chair in the Sun Room--in fact, there were many free chairs--where he settled down to see what the new patients looked like. Prisoners, not patients. He felt bad that he had to remind himself. Even if he was crazy, he wasn't going to give in to Dr. Landel's game, not today. He nibbled on an overgrown cuticle and kept an eye on the room. No dozing today.

"Well, it's easier to talk than constantly scrawl notes back and forth. And I want to know who the other robot patients are. We should stick together, in case someone finds a lead about our real bodies, or how to reverse this."

"Agreed." If only because there was strength in numbers. You could always backstab someone when they became inconvenient to have around, after all.

Blitzwing crossed his arms, noting that he seemed to be a great deal taller than Forte. "I must confess, I'm still somewhat surprised that someone like you exists. The human technology I'm familiar with is nowhere near the level of advancement that building someone like you would surely require."

Though it was funny to see their little drones scurrying all over the place!

"Well, most of the robots are just built to serve the humans - trash, construction, that stuff. But on the earth I came from, to make a long story short, a feud between scientists trying to save or take over the world resulted in constant upgrades and advances in technology for combat. And the pinnacle of that arms... was me." He puffed up his chest proudly as he spoke, happy to describe his pedigree. "My creator hasn't made anything that's surpassed me yet, and I've made sure of it." It wasn't as sinister as it might have sounded, but it was true - he'd destroyed King himself, and he was sure the would-be successor was no match.

The technological advancements that came with war were certainly something Blitzwing could identify with -- as was the desire to stay on top. Despite his reservations, he found himself warming to Forte, just a little. Of course, considering his relationship with his partner, who he'd been working with for millions of years, that probably wasn't going to count for much, in the long run.

"I'm not familiar with the conflict you speak of," he said thoughtfully, "But given some of the things I've been told about this place, it seems probable that we merely come from different universes, or something similar." Assuming that was true, of course. But for now it was as good an explanation as any. "Still!" he said with a wide, toothy grin. "The Decepticons welcome all Cybertronians of both intelligence and strength; I see no reason why the same shouldn't extend to you."

While listening to Blitzwing talking, Forte noticed his tone of voice kept changing back and forth, but figured it must be the same effect as his handwriting. "Well, that's one thing I wanted to talk about. I've heard about Starscream being a traitor, but you might know a different Starscream. I've been told there's people from different versions of the same worlds, not just different worlds. Plus there's this blue prick where I come from, named Rock, who always acts self-righteous and protects the humans - in fact, I was built to destroy him. But another man here, Teisel, comes from another planet called Terra, and knows a self-righteous prick named Rock that wears blue armour."
Forte had to listen carefully to what he said to make sure it made sense. "It's confusing, but I'm just going by what other people said about this place."

"That is an option that had occurred to me," Blitzwing said, after listening thoughtfully to Forte's words. "Especially now that I have had the chance to speak to Starscream myself, over the bulletin board. He said the weirdest things...About Optimus Prime leading the Autobots and defeating Megatron in combat, when we both know that puny Optimus isn't even a member of the Elite Guard, and could never beat Megatron! And even though he recognized my name, he didn't seem to know me at all..."

Blitzwing's voice changed multiple times throughout this little speech, sometimes cool and collected, other times low and harsh...and occasionally it sounded almost childlike in pitch. He continued, in the harsh voice, "Still, the things Starscream has done in my universe, combined with the claims he's been making, means he cannot be trusted completely. Even if he's provided you with aid or good information, you'd still better watch your back around him."

Forte nodded, "Noted. Another thing you should know is that these human bodies require a lot of upkeep. I'm trying to find out everything necessary to use them properly. Like, the muscles under the skin are what move our limbs, but they need to be stretched briefly before strenuous use or they can malfunction and seize up."
