Day 37: Sun Room

Joe had read some of the larger notes stuck up on the bulletin board when the announcement came on the intercom. All things considered, this Landel guy didn't even seem so bad. Even if these people were held here against their will, he was certainly nice about it.

Apparently, the new patients - including Joe - were to hang around in the Sun Room or go to Arts and Crafts with the kids. Well, there was plenty of information on the board, including maps and descriptions of monsters, for Joe to prepare for the nighttime, when he could seriously get going on fighting his way out. He could look for where the boss would probably be waiting, or where his V-watch might be, and figure out how to fight the monsters. In fact, he had plenty of time to work all that out... but this the first time he'd had to really relax since he got his powers. So it couldn't possibly hurt to enjoy the calm period, could it?

The red-head stepped back from the board, and hopped back onto a comfy-looking couch to digest in the sunlight. He reached up to pull his cap down, and sighed when he realized it wasn't there. "Oh well, nothing's perfect. I still wouldn't call this hell."

"Ah, got it." The Ranger wasn't sure what kind of fun there was to be had around here, but oh well. Then again, if other nurses were like Nurse Creepy, she could see how they'd be considered uptight for ruining any fun.

At least this girl seemed nice enough. That was certainly a welcomed change. "Right, sorry about that. I'm Kimberly. I don't really have much of a story to tell, it's just," she waved her hands slightly, as though she were trying to figure out a way to put it, "One of the nurses seriously creeped me out. Something about showers and what happened when I got here and... ugh, I so don't want to think about it."

Wrinkling her nose, she covered her eyes for a few seconds. "Anyway, Senna, you said? Do you know what this place is?"

Senna nodded along; yep, yep the nurses sucked. There was no question there at least. "Yeah, Senna. And uh," she tilted her head at Kimberly--fun name, Senna had never heard of it. "Are you new here?"

That sucked if she was. Senna was still sorta new herself. Both of them would be lost. Well, at least Senna could clear the air about what this place is. "This is a mental institution," she replied cheerily. "They try to tell you you're a different person from a different life, but monsters supposedly come out at night so that cover doesn't really work. But we can't leave. Even if we leave the place at night we wake up in our beds. So we're stuck here until someone figures this place out."

Senna considered something for a minute. "Or kills the guy in charge."
