Day 36: Arts & Crafts Room
The nurse had told Wash he could go anywhere he wanted and the thought Is home included in that? crossed his mind, but that sounded too pathetic to say aloud, even for him. So he silently eenie meenie minie moe'd through his options, ended up choosing the Sun Room, and then promptly decided the Arts and Crafts room would be more interesting. At least there might be stuff he could fiddle with and distract himself.
A part of him couldn't decide if he was relieved or not he didn't get a visitor. He didn't think it would've gone the way a proper visit was supposed to go, but...
He stepped into the room and sat down at an empty table, rifling through the materials absently. This place looked much too cheerful. Although maybe that was better than looking much too scary, but it was so cheerful it was almost scary and now he was starting to confuse even himself.
After a second, he picked up a pair of scissors (these weren't scissors, they were more like plastic chopsticks) and a sheet of construction paper and began cutting.

"I don't know. I don't think... it is, anymore." She used to pity the people who 'escaped' through such means, but maybe she was the one who was meant to be pitied.
Luxord went along with the change of subject though, which Naminé was glad for. She didn't want to start thinking too much about her visit, after all.
"No, just that she saw me with you a few times. When did you two meet?" Naminé was genuinely curious, as Celes didn't talk much about how she knew the Gambler.

Something about her frown just made him recall sympathy.
Hm, how long had it been? "Eight days, four hours, and 12- ...13 minutes ago, to be precise," he answered, one hand cupping his chin in thought. He was always precise. "She was an acquaintance of Noah, the man who shared my room. She accompanied us during the trip to town." Wasn't exactly a pleasant experience to call back. Why was it that all his trips were foiled? "We've spoken a few times after Noah's disappearance. Incidentally, the man has visited her today."

Luxord's somewhat parental gestures did wonders in calming Naminé down an cheering her up, and the Witch finally started to try and clear the glitter out of her own hair as Luxord told her about how he knew Celes... and a man named Noah. She began to understand as he mentioned how she was friends with Noah, and not Luxord.
Of course, perhaps Naminé had been too hasty in associating the two. But Celes didn't seem to have that much ill will towards the Gambler. And when Luxord mentioned how Noah had paid her a visit... all of the sudden, it became all too clear.
"I see..." There was yet another point of interest between her and Celes. A coincidence, or a sign? For the moment, she thought this over, before sighing a little sadly.
"I suppose it's not a bad way to go, though. I know there are those who do not have a place or a purpose where they come from." Like herself and Luxord, come to think of it.

He never said he was not friends with Celes, if their last night together had meant anything. He simply did not know her enough. In fact, it seemed Noah and Naminé were their only connections, as of now.
Still, the topic of leaving once again returned. And when Naminé said that, Luxord went quiet, only pulling his cards from his sleeves and shuffling them from hand to hand as he mulled over what to say.
It was a gamble. Chances were that the smaller Nobody would reject him and try to convince him of another way, of something else. Nothing else would change his mind, really. He'd been thinking of this for days now and it seemed a good enough time as any to speak of it.
Hopefully it would go over better with the Witch than it did Xigbar.
"If I were to tell you that I plan to stay on this world, to... assimilate." That sounded like the right word. "Would you consider staying with me? Would you consider leaving all the fighting, Kingdom Hearts, the Heartless and Nobodies... Leaving all of it behind in order to be human? To gain a heart and not have share it with someone who hardly knows you?" He smiled, but it was awfully transparent, maybe even pained. "I'd be rather lonely without you, you know. We're family here, remember?"
tl;dr: 8( sucks to see you go. come visit sometime, k?
So naturally, Naminé gave Luxord quite the surprised look when he agreed and told her that this was a path that he intended to take. Of course, even if they returned to their home world, Luxord and her would return to their respective Others; they would most likely never see each other again once they returned to their own universe.
But while the choice was simple (and actually better, she begrudgingly realized) for Luxord, it was not so for Naminé. She could see why Luxord made his choice, but to agree with it was one thing and to actually join him was...
"You, too?" Naminé didn't seem particularly outraged, nor upset. Not even disappointed; her voice just had a quiet tone to it that seemed to reek of sad realization. It really made her wonder: Did people really "give in", succumb to the lies found in this place, or did they really embrace them? Were the visits then not planned by the Head Doctor to lower their morale, but rather subtle attempts by former patients to show them one way out?
When Naminé thought about it that way, it made much more sense. And it did make her feel better. Yet she could not agree with it. Luxord was right, she and him were family in this world. She would even be able to see Soma. Sure, she'd have to adopt a new name and adapt to how this world worked, but she would be happy, right? Soma was happy, and Luxord sounded like he would be happy...
"You would come visit me too, right?"
No, Naminé could not go. To do so would make her a hypocrite; she had no right to value her existence after spending so much time assuring Roxas that giving up his was the right thing to do. And what of Kairi? She couldn't leave her Other incomplete. As appealing as it actually sounded to embrace those lies, Naminé knew that leading a false life would amount to no good.
For her, anyway.

"Did you come here to make something, peanut? I could help, if you wish."
I'll defend your territory when you leave, homeslice. >8( <3
"Y-yes, actually, I am!" She quickly wiped her eyes, looking around at the glitter that lay around them. "My roommate and I decided to make a lucky charm, so that we might have a little extra luck when traveling around during the night. In my case, I think I need all the luck I can get."
Make sure you remember how to bust kneecaps like how I taught you.
He chuckled at Naminé's enthusiasm and once again ruffled her hair, just for the sake of it. "I'm afraid I lack the talent you do for making... much of anything," he admitted, "but luck I can help with. Come now, let's find what you need."
I could never forget. <3
"And maybe we can use whatever's left of the glitter, too."

Hm. The Gambler reached into his sleeve and pulled out the suit of diamonds, the 2, 3, 4, 6, and 10 of hearts, and the bag of glitter, handing them over to the girl in front of him. "I know naught about origami, but I do promise luck with these. And sparkles."
