Nightshift 21: M61 - M70 Hall

After Albel had finished his dinner, he quickly inspected his room, trying to find something useful. The result was as fruitless as his first inspection, only finding a journal and some device he didn't knew. The captain let out a frustrated sigh and flopped down on the bed. Waiting...

After what seemed like an eternity, he finnaly heard the click of the door. The captain didn't waste any time as he opened the door and quickly made his way through the hallway, trying not to attract any attention of other people around. He wasn't really interested in taking someone along for the ride. Those maggots would just slow him down anyway, and the warrior wanted to get to his destination as quickly as possible without anyone nagging him.

He just hoped he'd get to the kitchen fast enough even without having a flashlight. Getting lost wasn't exactly a useful way to spend the night.

[Albel quickly sneaked off to here]

The sound of the Head Doctor’s voice spilling out of the intercom speakers for the second time that evening was all it took to rouse Yazoo from his light slumber, and he cursed the man under his breath as he sat up in bed. ‘I must have dozed off again after the nurse took my dinner tray. Makes me wonder if they drugged my food,’ he mused silently to himself.

When the lock on his door clicked open, he wasted no time, reaching behind him under his pillow to pull the flashlight out from underneath it. He flicked on the device and slid out of bed, walking over to the desk to get a pen from the bundle in the drawer, intending to use it as a makeshift weapon just like River had.

Deciding against taking the radio after its little announcement (which Yazoo had rolled his eyes at), he positioned himself by the door and clicked the flashlight off, letting his eyes adjust to the darkness before stepping out into the hallway.

A part of him didn't even want to go out tonight, and he would've just stayed inside his room if he'd uncovered a bottle of whiskey to keep himself occupied throughout the night. His conversation with Rufus hadn't exactly been the most heartwarming. And it'd been cut short, too, on top of that.

Reno hated leaving unfinished business.

But his best distraction right now was to roam the hallways. Find something to do. Anything.

Grabbing his flashlight and a couple of pens, he pushed open the door and stepped outside, the flashlight still turned off. He could spot a figure ahead of him. The long silver hair automatically conjured up the name Sephiroth before it was replaced by the more plausible Yazoo.

Damn. He hadn’t realized Kadaj’s brother was that close to his room.

Reno wasn't up for a confrontation, though. Instead, he walked by without a glance in Yazoo's direction, heading straight for the end of the hallway.

Zelos couldn't help but snort at the radio when it went off. He didn't sound any better than the head doctor, and Zelos didn't like being a pawn in whatever childish game they were playing.

At least he'd gotten some entertainment at the end of the day. Loud blond kid had been fun to mess with.

Grabbing his flashlight, Zelos made his way towards the female block, confident he could find the way on his own.

As expected, the door clicked open right on schedule. This time, Hakkai didn't bother taking anything from the room. He could travel light and nothing in there was likely to help him very much on its own.

He left his room in time to see a few others disappearing down the hall. Only one way to go, of course, so he followed. First point on tonight's agenda was to see if Kenren was about, then to get farther than he had the previous night. There had to be more to this place than they were shown during the day. Somewhere, there were answers, and perhaps even more.
