Nightshift 35: Greenhouse Yard
(From here.)
Bridget carefully opened the door and looked around the area outside. Nobody seemed to have come this way yet.... He hoped.
Turning back to Kagura, he gestured outside. "I think it's safe..."

Having scaled the walls for the past few nights, Kagura was quickly becoming a veteran at it. She tucked her flashlight into the waist of her pants and held the staff in her right hand as she went, climbing carefully up the wall. She paused at the top, looking down, but as usual, saw nothing but empty grass and a lot of darkness. It gave her the shivers.

Well that was odd... the door was open. Adelheid eased his way out into the greenhouse yard, his eyes narrowed as he swept for whoever might have done it. Another patient, or was it a recipe for a monster trap? After a long pause, however, he couldn't determine anything, so... it was off to the greenhouse. How odd, that a path so mundane and boring during the day had a sense of menace just by being cast in shadows.

Outside. A dark feeling in Matt's gut told him that the outside couldn't be the safest place to be. The greenhouse stood ominous before him, and through the glass he could see something happening within. His pace quickened. He needed to get out of this area and fast.
The wall would be difficult to scale, but Matt's flashlight picked up a small building at the far end of the yard. It was up against the wall, and if he was lucky there would be a window or a door - something that would give a foothold so he could pull himself over.
Approaching it, however, was like something out of a horror movie. Once again, he had to make this quick. (Easier said than done.) The pillowcase was tied neatly around his arm before he began to climb.

The wall loomed ahead of the asset. Tall, but easily scalable. They should have tied me to the bed if they didn't want me to escape, he thought, a not-quite smile passing across his face. Even though it would have only slowed me down.
He went up to the wall and ran his hand over the bricks. Easy enough to climb, if you knew what you were doing. He remembered his escape from the American embassy in Zurich - this would be almost the same. Bourne put his radio and flashlight into his coat pockets and scaled the wall with almost frightening ease. More adrenaline was flooding his system, and the sedative was truly on the run now.

That... that wasn't good. The tattoos were agonizing, and Adelheid could feel the delicate lines spreading across his face, each stretch causing a fresh stab of pain that seemed to extend all the way into the core of his being.
Soon Adelheid stumbled against the stone wall, and he rested his cheek against it, as though the cold there could somehow mitigate the suffering he felt. It didn't, of course, and so he turned again, sliding down the wall and keeping his good eye on the greenhouse. Only after a moment did he realize that he hadn't met with Hohenheim that night... hah... well, what did it matter? It wasn't like either he or Lust would meet with him anyway, not considering his own bloody past. Maybe it would be best just to sit here and wait...
