Nightshift 35: East Wing Hall B

((From here.))

Now he was in a part of the Institute that he only knew through the daytime hours. Adelheid's eyes narrowed as he let the beam of his flashlight play over the dark corners of this hall, alert for any signs of trouble. He was close to his destination, but that didn't mean he could afford to get sloppy now. He'd survived in this place for too long to let one careless mistake do him in.

...and yet, despite the danger, he found himself unable to fight his feeling of liberation. No one else slowed him down or got in his way, and he knew he was moving faster as a result. Perhaps this would be a learning experience after all.

If Matt remembered correctly, then both halls heading north would lead to the outside area he wanted to reach. Of those two, the second hall didn't have any doors, while the first had many. If there were doors, then things could come out of those doors. At the same time, he could hide in a room if there was anything in the hall.

He'd prefer a straight run, though, and thus he took a risk with the second hall, moving quickly towards the exit without looking back.

No doors. Nothing to see. Just bare wall, and no distractions. Bourne went out the door at the end, into the outside air.
