Nightift 35: Clinic (M35)
The previous night had helped some. Tamaki certainly felt more prepared and ready to face the night. A day in town, away from the Institute, hadn't hurt either. So when the intercom came on and the doors unlocked, he gathered himself together and quickly began setting up the clinic for the coming night. The sign went up, supplies were laid out, and he sat down on the edge of his bed to begin shredding his sheets....

"Good evening," Raine said. Though she went right to her usual spot at one of the desks, she was watching Tamaki closely; if he hadn't gotten a chance to rest or relax, she was taking him somewhere this time. He looked a little better, at least; considering, that was probably all she could ask over the course of a day. She certainly hadn't been doing well for a while--and for the most part this kind of situation wasn't new for her.
She was still too idle, though; if at all possible she needed to arrange that mobile group, and soon. All she needed was to know how much longer she'd be in here before she got a break.
In which I help look for people too severely wounded to get to help themselves... All right, maybe not a break, but a change of pace.

"Heya Tamaki," Sheena said, forcing her worry over Zelos away to return to a more cheerful self. She pulled out the small piece of fudge she brought with her and broke it in half, figuring she'd keep a small piece for that other boy if he was there when she checked.
"It's not much, but it is good," she said to Tamaki as she walked over to him and held her hand out, fudge sitting in her palm.

When Sheena handed him the small piece of fudge, his eyes lit up visibly. "Oh, thank you!" He exclaimed, taking the bit of sweets gleefully. It didn't matter that it wasn't much, the very thought of it was what made him feel so happy. It was such a kind and thoughtful gesture! "Thank you!" he said again, not feeling at all silly to get so excited over a small bit of chocolate.

"Evening." Kratos quietly entered the clinic and slid off to the side of the door in his usual matter. It seemed he always arrived in the middle of some conversation, although Tamaki was already acting cheerier than the previous night- a good sign.

Since they never knew when or if things would get hectic, it was good to see Kratos, too; she nodded to him and picked up a book to study.

"You're welcome!" The enthusiasm wasn't bothering the ninja and her own reply held a similar level of cheerfulness. "I hope you like it. I was able to sweet-talk some out of the toy-shop owner earlier. i had help, but still... it couldn't have been done without me." She was not going to tell Raine that to pull the act off she had acted all girl-like and even misted up with some tears. Especially when KRATOS was in the room.
"Hey... I'm going to go check on that boy that was sitting outside the room, okay? He looked lonely," Sheena said. "Call me if you need me."

Well, hopefully Miss Sheena would take care of whatever problem there might be. They had to make sure everything was prepared for the oncoming rush!
"Things probably won't stay quiet for long...."
no subject
"You never know," he said to Tamaki. "Last night was quiet; perhaps that will carry over into tonight." Granted, there had been a patient, but 'quiet' for the clinic typically meant 'we weren't swarmed'. "And fortunately this trip back was not a repeat performance."

Maybe it was a good thing that she rarely left the clinic.

Since the door was open, Beatrix didn't bother knocking as she entered. Dressed still in the clothes she'd been given earlier, the long blue skirt contrasted with the very real katana slung across her back with the hilt in easy reach sticking up over her shoulder. Her right arm was still wrapped in bandages from the healing burns, but she moved in less pain than one would expect having seen the injury before it was dressed and in her left she held a pillowcase full of various shaped items, indeterminable as it was tied shut.
Her eyes moved around the room. She noted the position of the older male, obviously a warrior, and the elf woman. She was effectively flanked by them with the young boy before her, but she wasn't worried. She was there for a reason. Her eyes moved between the three a moment as she waited to be addressed.

"Ah, welcome to the clinic! Can we help you?" he asked, wondering if she'd gotten hurt so soon in the night....

Kratos shifted noiselessly out of his relaxed posture, allowing Tamaki to handle the formalities. He wouldn't be able to do much if she meant to cause trouble- the most he had by way of a weapon was a pen down his sleeve and maybe his flashlight- but he could react fast enough to defend either Raine or Tamaki.

Technically one of us could heal her and send her on her way, yes... but after what she did I still don't want to waste any magic on her.

The boy spoke up and she shook her head. "I do not require any assistance," she stated, her voice cool yet neutral. "I am simply here to drop this off."
She turned and set the pillowcase (http://quickdrawbkiddo.livejournal.com/1014.html#cutid3) down on the desk in front of the elf-woman. "I do not like the feeling of being in debt to another," she said, her eyes finding those of the elf-woman.

"Thank you!" he exclaimed, bowing slightly to the blond woman. Did she know Raine? Maybe Raine had healed her, or something like that. "We appreciate this very much!"

It was the first time Honey had actually made it inside the Clinic, though it was just as cramped as his own room and there were more people in it. Holding Usa-chan a little tighter for comfort, he waved to Tamaki as they entered.
"We made it Tama-chan!" he announced, as though the short trek was worthy of applause. Even if Tamaki was talking with other people, it didn't usually stop him from interrupting. He was cute enough to get away with it.

He was proud of it, really. They did so much, and with so little! "These are the wonderful people who devote their time and skills to the noble art of healing!" He gestured to Raine and Kratos.

He waved a brief hello and gave a sugary smile to the others Tamaki had been talking with, but focused his attention on their leader. "That's great Tama-chan! It sounds like you help a lot of people." And it was just like him to do so. Even if he couldn't fight well, Tamaki seemed to have and endless number of ideas for other ways to help. That's how things had been in the Host Club too.
"Hnnn," he glanced over at them once more. "Do you think they'd mind watching the Clinic if we talked outside some? I don't really like cramped places," he fidgeted. It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't a whole truth either. After hearing everyone talk about Tamaki and whatever had happened like it was taboo though, it was probably better than being blunt about it. At least until they were away from so many other sets of ears. "Would that be okay? Just for a little while."

With Mitsukuni's excuse that the Clinic room was too cramped for his tastes, Mori backed up and stood near the door, ready to open it in case Tamaki agreed.
no subject
"Of course, just a moment." He nodded, smiling. He didn't mind stepping out if Honey wanted to talk.
"Miss Raine, Kratos, I'm just stepping out for a moment!" he called, letting them know he wasn't going far. "They can handle things while I'm not here, they're very good at it," he explained.

Kenshin entered the room first, holding the door open with his uninjured shoulder so that Sano would have one less thing to worry about. Other than the unconscious girl slung over his shoulder, anyway. Yuffie was still out cold.
"Pardon the intrusion," the rurouni called out lightly. "Is this the clinic that was advertised on the common board?"
no subject
Raine looked the group over and wasn't happy with what she saw, but at least their injuries weren't as severe as they could have been. "What happened?" she asked, eyes on the unconscious girl--anyone who was unresponsive got first priority.
The boy carrying her shouldn't be exerting himself more than he had to either, so she added, "If you could put her on the other bed?" as she went for the bandages again.

"There was a fight." A couple of fights, but Sanosuke really didn't feel like going into the details with some stranger. He pointed to Yuffie and then to Kenshin in turn, giving a rather brief summary between heavy breaths. "She healed us and passed out, and he got a sword in the shoulder. I'm fine though, so look at them first."
Like hell he was going to let something as little as this wear him out. Sanosuke walked a few paces, trying to calm the vague ache in his muscles as his breathing finally settled into a steady pace.
