Night 35: Intercom, Beginning of Night
...Only to come to life again a few moments later. The intercom crackled to life with all of its usual creepy static and slow laughter. The Head Doctor seemed pleased with something.
"Sorry? Do you really think I'm ever sorry for anything I speak about? No, no, of course not. Sometimes, one has to sit back and fully enjoy the charade I put on for you people, hahahaha...."
He paused and his large office chair creaked as he leaned in towards the microphone.
"Oh, and to those of you who thought yourselves clever enough to get away with thievery and gambling in town: did you really think I wouldn't know about it? Do you really think I'd let you all break the rules unless they were meant to be broken? Why, yes, it's very fun to see what you all do with your perceived freedom. Fun and, in your cases, pathetic.
"But I digress. Some of you have new tools, don't you? And if not, you have boosted morales? Hm? Some of you are even thinking of trying to walk out and down the road and to get to town after some arduous trekking? Well, all I have to say to you is..."
Patients got the impression of him smiling wickedly as he delivered his next words:
"Good luck."
The intercom fizzed and then clicked off. The doors unlocked.
