Day 35: Bus 3 (Return Trip)
Armand wearily climbed the steps of the bus. He was less tired than cold, but it made his limbs ache. He hoped they'd actually make it back to the Institute before dark this time. He hadn't seen either Citan or Morrison in town, so he kept an eye out for either one climbing back into the bus. He still wondered if Morrison had been able to rest today instead of coming to town. Other than a lunch that he hadn't liked and meeting a new face or two, he wasn't sure at all what he'd gained by the day. Oh well, he was more than used to disappointment and failure.

"Although I'd be careful in what you say to her. She has less memories than I do. They took her from before the fighting started, so she has no idea about Morton or what happened to her."
At Rainier's humorous comment, Daemon's lips quirked. "I'm sure it does," he agreed. He hadn't had much of a chance himself yet, especially since the past few months he'd been in Kaeleer, he'd had to deal with the Coven's mistrust for the games he and Jaenelle had had to play out. He wasn't sure if he would ever regain their trust once more. Then again, his reputation as the Sadist wasn't one that often garnered trust very easily.

He smiled almost fondly at Daemon's comment. "I wouldn't change that time for anything in the world."

At Rainier's smile, Daemon paused to study him intently for a moment. Despite the fact that Lucivar had told him about the roles he and Rainier followed, he knew very little about this man. Or at least, remembered none of it. "Tell me about it?" he prodded mildly after a moment, finding that he wanted to know more about this Warlord and how he thought.

He remained still beneath Daemon's searching gaze, reminding himself that this Daemon didn't remember him and would take a while to get used to him. "About the coven?" he asked, not certain what Daemon wanted to know.
