Day 35: T&M Electronics
[ From here. ]
While Sylar had originally dodged into the electronics store to avoid knowing eyes from seeing him, he realized as soon as he stepped in that checking the place out probably wasn't a bad idea. After all, the only power he knew he still had and which didn't cripple him with headaches was his original one, and as much as he hated the idea of being unable to access his other powers, he had to make the best of what he had.
Last night, the Institute had given him back his possessions long enough for him to taste them, savor them. And now he'd make sure he got them back, even if he had to start with equipment as mundane as wires and screwdrivers. He knew how things worked and while horology was his field of expertise, he certainly wasn't limited to it.

Beatrix entered the store, holding the door for SubZero to follow, and glanced around the room. There was another man in here, one she thought she'd seen before, and she gave a slight nod in greeting as she walked to the front counter. Once there, she extracted the iPod she'd acquired from the small pocket at her waistband and set it on the counter.
She smiled at the person behind the counter. "Hello."

Of course, it would probably seem a bit odd for a grown man like himself to be in possession of something like that, but he could always see if Arlene was up for doing this again, or make a deal with someone else.

That was about when she remembered that it was Institute day. These guys must have been from that place.
"Something I can help you two with?"

The shopping was quick; all he needed was a CD player that looked like it wouldn't break easily - he picked one with rechargeable batteries, on the off chance that there was an outlet in the rooms that could be used to charge them with - and an appropriate CD. A compilation of classical music was really all he needed, and one of those was hardly difficult to find. Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi...more than suitable.
Carrying them up to the counter, he set them there with a grin at the clerk, tossing down his money beside them. "Think you can ring me up? I'm in a hurry."

It probably wouldn't be in a hurry though. He still wasn't all that great on the register. It was one of those things that Tina had made pretty custom through years of fiddling with it, and it took just the right touch to get it to open. "You new in town? I don't think I've seen you before."

And that, of course, was nothing more than fact; being a telepath meant always having the right gift, if one were inclined to give them.
