Day 35 - Mystic Healing Spa and Accupuncture

[from here]

"Let's see what's behind door number one then," he replied, deciding to play along with Hanyuu.

Archer wasn't sure what her true self was like, but he suspected it wasn't this. He didn't have anyway of confirming this; it was just a gut feeling he got. Perhaps something happened to her during nightshift? God, he hoped not. Patients were regularly taken for experimentation, but... His jaw tensed a little at the thought, but he reigned his emotions in before the dam broke loose. Hanyuu wasn't the only one good at hiding her feelings; Archer had plenty of experience too.

"Hello," he said entering the spa. Immediately his senses were assaulted by the smell of incense and herbal tea that he recognize. To a Japanese person like him the scent wasn't offensive but rather relaxing. He'd been to plenty of places like it back home. Issei's place had particularly strong incense, though it was to be expected of a temple.

Approaching the counter, he noticed the vibrant yellow that contrasted the soothing blue. To the side there were crystals hanging in the window like little snow flakes, twisting and refracting the light into a glittering shine. The flowing fountain on the desk seemed slightly out of place but soothing just as well. All in all, a relaxing feeling filled him in this place. It definitely wasn't home, but at the very least it was much more comfortable than the Institute. "We have some coupons for a massage and facial."

Glancing at the little spirit by his side out of the corner of his eye, he wondered if she was interested in a facial. In his experience, girls were usually really interested in this kind of stuff, but Hanyuu looked pretty young. Maybe she didn't care.

The long haired, rather dreamy eyed woman behind the counter dressed in flowing clothing smiled and nodded.

"Welcome to Mystic Healing, we hope you enjoy your stay. We have plenty of open spots for both. How exactly may we help you today?"

As they moved off of the street and into the spa, Hanyuu released a quiet sigh of relief, glad that she had been granted at least a sliver of luck. She doubted it would last very long, but hopefully it would provide at least a few minutes of peace.

The interior of the building was... not quite what she would've expected. Not that she'd really known what to expect in the first place, but still. She was too busy looking around the room to immediately notice the woman at the counter, and it wasn't until she spoke that Hanyuu realized she was there.

"U-um," the spirit squeaked out, bumping into Archer as she moved closer to him. "What... Auauu... Wh-what's a facial?" She probably should've asked that while they were still outside, but she hadn't bothered looking at the packet of coupons earlier.

"A massage, how nice. We do very good work here, you'll leave more relaxed than you've been in your life. I'll just pop back and let Skye know she has a customer. She'll take care of you." The dreamy eyed woman nodded and flipped open a notebook, though her attention was on the girl who had accompanied the man.

"And what about you, dear? How can we assist you today?

[identity profile] meironohosoku.livejournal.com 2008-09-08 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ah..." Hanyuu nodded slightly at Archer's response. In truth, that sounded rather... pointless, but it did sound better than a massage. Considering her side was still bandaged from that last monster encounter, and considering she was still wary of people she didn't know, she'd prefer to limit any physical contact.

"Then I'll go with that, I guess," she said, shifting nervously. Hanyuu really wished she hadn't become the object of the strange woman’s attention. "T-the facial, I mean..."

"It'll be just a moment," she promised, writing something down in the notebook and moving through a door behind the counter that was covered by hanging beads. A moment later she emerged, hands folded.

"We're ready for you. If you'll just hand over your coupons and head through that door...?"

[identity profile] meironohosoku.livejournal.com 2008-09-09 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that had been relatively easy. Hanyuu gave Archer a small, grateful smile before digging out her set of coupons. That was easier said than done since she had to keep pushing her sleeves back, but she finally succeeded and managed to pull out the appropriate one.

Giving Archer another quick look, the spirit handed the woman the coupon and then moved through the door.

Entering into the spa, Yuber was instantly hit with the scent of incense. It was a sensation that offended his senses as he stepped further in, and the sickly yellow and blue colours covering the walls made him wish to burn them instantly down.

Still, he held himself in check and walked further into the establishment.

The sound of running water pulled Yuber's attention over to the reception desk - where a number of humans were obviously working behind. Passing his gaze over the men and women, the Black Knight turned his attention back down to Xelloss. "I believe you were correct in picking this wonderful establishment."

Xelloss paused in the doorway, and took a heavy breath in through his nose, then coughed, still smiling after the little fit passed. My, that was something. His lungs were probably still sensitive from last night's cold air. He really did have to keep in mind this body's limitations...

"Why, thank you," he answered, once he'd recovered from the unexpected scent. It really wasn't too unpleasant now that he was used to it, but he shouldn't have inhaled so heavily before. And more softly, glancing up, "Doesn't it seem like a peaceful, serene sort of place, where people will go to have their troubles gently taken away?" So it was lovely to have trouble walk in the doorway. Although, now that they were here, what to do without openly inviting trouble on themselves? Aside from finding out what a facial was. Curiosity was one trait Xelloss hadn't outgrown a bit over the centuries.

After a few moments, the woman behind the counter blinked her wide, dreamy eyes at the two men.

"May I help you?" she called out.

Hokuto made a soft, wordless sound of pleasure when they stepped inside; it even smelled like home. Not her own place, but her grandmother's; she smiled wistfully, hoping the woman was all right. She didn't depend on me like Subaru, but losing a grandchild isn't something you recover from, is it? And after losing a child... she closed her eyes for a second. I'm sorry, Grandmother.

But enough of that; the field trip was a day to put worries aside for a while, to relax somewhere that wasn't inside the walls of an institution. She turned to smile at Adel as she led him towards the waiting area; she didn't mind if it was a while before someone came around to them. They could talk, and she could enjoy the atmosphere.

This area felt... well... just a tiny bit odd for Adelheid. An oddly relaxing atmosphere that almost felt like a lure, a strange sort of floaty feeling, almost. He could relax, sure, but Adelheid always felt just a little more protective when it came to defending someone he was with. Especially a girl.

Ah well. He followed along amiably as Hokuto led him to the waiting area, offering a slight smile to her as he did so. "This place seems... refreshing?"

[identity profile] akarusa.livejournal.com 2008-09-13 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah." She smiled back; finding a place to sit, she settled down and just looked around the place. "Reminds me of my grandmother's place--she likes incense as much as I like perfume." For somewhat different reasons, but not really as different as Grandma would claim.

She'd been a little worried she'd end up teary-eyed, but this time the reminder of home just felt peaceful. She knows I'm okay; hopefully, she will be too. She closed her eyes in something like a prayer; after a moment, she turned to Adel and smiled again. "Say, what language are you speaking?" It sounded crazy to any outsiders, but it was obvious where they were from anyway...

Honey pushed open the door and bounced in, enjoying the sights and scents of the spa. It was easily a reminder of home and the nicer things he'd come to expect. He made it to the front counter, head barely high enough to talk to the person at the desk.

"Hello!" he chirped.

Ed followed Honey into the spa, eying the interior of the shop warily. He wasn't certain that he trusted this place. It smelled funny and the people looked kind of vacant in the eyes. He stood back to let Honey do the talking, reading the list of treatments and the posters on the walls and trying to ignore the music which was getting on his nerves. This, he thought sourly, was definitely a place where he didn't belong at all.
