Nightshift 34: General Storage (2nd Floor)

[from here]

Leading the way inside, since she had the knife and was fairly certain even injured she could kill something quickly and more efficiently than Donna, Beatrix shined the light around. Bingo. Boxes of general first aid supplies were stacked in the room as well as some folded sheets and... what appeared to be a few staff uniforms.

She'd need to remember to grab one or two for Mion and the girl's odd dress-up fetish.

"Here we go," she said, pulling a sheet off a shelf and unfolding it. She could pile stuff on it and carry it back to the room that way.

"Sounds like you've had some fun too..." Donna's tone was a tad annoyed. Maybe they hadn't had any trained killers after them, and maybe they had, but she'd been through things close enough to count.

"Ohhhh, then you'll just love that Doctor." More sarcasm on Donna's part, though this comment was actually based on more truth than not. "Must have lost thirty pounds for the running I've gotta do with him. Not that I'm complaining."

"Sprinter. You'd probably see him at the Olympics in twenty-twelve." Donna laughed, then raised a finger. "And unless you like running for your life, it's not the thing for you." It did give Donna a bit of a rush actually, so she didn't mind it, but she couldn't admit to liking it terribly. It was all just a part of travelling with the Doctor. You got used to it. "Even if you could market it pretty well."

"God..." Donna's eyes turned up, mind running away from her for a moment.

"Oh God, no!" Now Donna's expression was one of disgust. That was not where her thoughts had been wondering off to!

Donna pulled her thoughts back and set a look at Arlene. "I've never seen him in shorts, just so you know."

"Don't go all silent now. I know what you're thinking, and you better stop it right now!"

Donna took a deep breath, then huffed it right back out. "Forget it. You done yet?"

"Good. It's about time we get back since this is the last stop of the night." Exploring could come later. Donna just wanted the woman to stop being all gung-ho and sit still.

"I'll take the bag," she said, offering a hand out.

[From here.]

Sync casually sidestepped around the latter as he entered the room, shining his fontech all around the inside of the tiny space before walking over and peered into a nearby box. There seemed to be, at least, a few first aid kits inside, and so he picked one up and opened it to examine its contents.

While this wasn't exactly a gold mine, he found at least a few things that would be helpful as he searched through the other boxes.

A sense of humor? Joshua would never have guessed. Ah well; it was another bit of information learned, which led to another series of interesting thoughts. Was this boy getting more comfortable around him already? Was it all just a cover for his own thoughts? Or was there a nicer person beneath the prickly exterior that wouldn't come out for some reason. Hard to say, really; it was impossible to say even if this aspect of the boy was what truly existed in his heart.

Joshua shrugged as he followed the green-haired boy in, picking up a first aid kit and some tylenol before grimacing and glancing at his partner. "Are we actually supposed to use these?"

The God-General had been in the middle of gathering more first aid kits (since they seemed to be the only useful things in this room) when he heard the latter ask something that made him roll his eyes. Did this kid even know what 'common sense' meant?

"If we weren't then they wouldn't have them here, would they?" Sync also chose to pick up a bottle of tylenol and a box of latex gloves as he continued his search.

"I'm not used to having to... bandage things." Joshua wrinkled his nose at that, wishing he had a Cure pin handy. Why bother with bandages when there were far better and more interesting things to do? Injuries just got in the way, and Joshua really didn't plan to be kept down for too long.

Or at all. The entire point of a partner was to have someone to absorb the hits for him~!
