Nightshift 34: Doctor's Office 4 (Stegman)
[from here]
Now this was more like what Brooklyn expected to see when he entered a doctor's office. It was clean, it was normal... If someone walked into this office they might actually believe that Landel's was a perfectly legit establishment. Maybe the doctor that kept it even believed these lies himself.
After glancing over everything briefly and finding it safe for the moment, the gargoyle motioned L inside. So far they hadn't found anything much in regards to what the doctors themselves were like aside from what their offices said about them, and he wondered if the other man had anything else planned at this point aside from theft.

L once again started digging through the office, unearthing a rather interesting find in one of the desk drawers; a pack of Cigarettes and a flask. He shoved the cigarettes into his pillow case and lifted up the flask, carefully opening it and taking a small whiff. It was definitely alcohol. This would indicate some sort of coping mechanism. This person had some reason to need solace or escape in narcotics. And more than likely they had a strong dependency too, seeing as this doctor couldn’t wait until he gets home.

"Nothing important?" he asked for the sake of conversation.

With things as they were here, it was a given that there would be some sort of underground trade in effect. But what L planned to get out of it he had no idea.
"Ah, gotcha."
