Dayshift 34: Men's Showers

Albel had wasted an entire night, but he couldn't quite figure out how he had actually wasted it. He had left his room early, didn't stand around doing nothing and no pathetic worm had dragged him down. Finding Fayt's room and smack the foolish maggot against the nearest wall shouldn't have taken a full night, but yet he found himself back in his bed before he even had so much as located the right door.

What the hell?!

But he didn't have much time to think about it, as one of the wenches instantly stepped into his room as soon he sat up. Had she had been waiting behind the door or something? He ignored her useless babble along the way to the showers. Apparently, he had slept through most of the day. Perhaps the lack of sleep was taking it's toll, though the warrior wouldn't even think about admitting that thought. And who cared about it anyway? The days were useless!

By the looks of things, Albel was the first one to arrive. Not that he cared. After stripping himself of his clothing he stepped inside the shower area and picked a stall by random. It took some fiddling with the knobs before the water temperature was good enough, but he eventually let the water wash over his body.

...damn it.

In seconds flat, Luxord's demeanor went from vaguely warm to ice cold, not bothering to either pay attention or speak. Washing the water from his hair seemed more important now.

"Well heck, if you need a cold shower just seein' me, you must've been missing out." Xigbar grinned at Axel, knowing that it was all in good fun. Or at least it was for this precise moment. Perhaps in a few moments it'd go back to normal, with them hating each other and stuff, but for now Xigbar was glad to be talking to someone who wasn't half as crazy as Luxord.

Speaking of... he reached over to lean on Luxord's shoulder, still grinning as he did so. Sooner or later either a nurse would come, or Luxord would snap... or he'd warm up and things would be cool again. One of those three. Xigbar just wasn't in the mood to wait. "They're real swell. Tiny bit of a squabble, but that's how family is. Been keeping busy?"

Axel would've been pretty dimwitted not to notice the sudden change in atmosphere, but he paid no mind to it when Xigbar spoke up. He couldn't help but chuckle back at the latter's comment, half tempted to point out that his shaggy, apple-shaped penis wasn't exactly 'turn on' material for the younger generation. However, instead he took the chance to point out the obvious.

"Maybe you should do yourself a favor and get her a bouquet or else you'll end up sleeping on the couch tonight," Axel piped in while he lathered his hair.

"And me? Same old, same old. It's getting a little boring, actually. I need to broaden my horizons a bit."

Luxord paid no mind to what the other two were saying, having resolved his issues with the two by immediately finding his joy-cloud and shutting out the world again; any and all noise around him turned to nice ocean waves as his imagination blocked out the world. Even II ugh, why did he have to have his hair down? X just wanted to push him down and ahiodh9ahd9idfih touching him did not come across as anything more than what it was: someone touching him. It did not require anything more than a side-glance and he was back to washing his hair.

After a moment of this and beginning to wash his goatee, he paused for a moment to read their lips.

He only caught the end of Axel's spiel which, to someone who had little experience reading lips, only looked like, "Ammy? Lame cold, lame cold. I'm betting a tiny mooring, actually. Aye me too harden by verisons a bit."

...The Gambler blinked for a second before going back to his shower. That last one was not even a word...

"Yeah, maybe I should. 'course she's got a good reason to be upset with me, so it's not like flowers'd do it. 'less it was some kinda gold flower or something." Or if it was a card flower. Perhaps a clock flower with a whiskey bottle inside? Hard to say. "Ah well. 'least the couch is kinda comfy." What did one get a prickly 'girlfriend' anyway?

He squeezed Luxord's shoulder for a moment, then went back to his stream of water, starting to work shampoo in his own hair... as Axel well knew, it took forever with hair like theirs. The effect was pretty nice, though, if the Freeshooter said so himself.

As for Axel? The oldest Nobody snickered, then offered, "Maybe you should. If things are gettin' dull then the only cure's to do something about it. An' it's not like there's a shortage of interesting people to bother."

[I forgot my word. D8]

"Well it's not like you were ever popular with the ladies in the first place," Axel poked at, grin growing wider by the second. Indeed, it was going to take a few minutes to thoroughly wash all of his hair, constantly running his fingers through the strands to get every bit cleaned. He took a moment to get that out of a way, dipping his head underneath the spray and began the tedious process of rinsing the suds out.

"You talk like you're an expert at these things, but considering how much you get around I'm not really surprised."

Why was it that every time Luxord was getting along with someone else that II burst into the scene? urge to grab hair... rising. Still, he kept his attention off somewhere into the deepest reaches of space and remained deaf to the conversation. For all he knew, they could be discussing the secrets of the universe behind his back.

Whatever they were speaking off was probably not so important anyhow.

Ignoring any sudden desires he may have had, Luxord moved away from the two to grab a towel. Since his hair was not a good mile long and he'd already rubbed his skin off cleaned his skin, he'd not need to worry about taking so long unlike some other people. Maybe after he got dressed he could spend some more time with Tyche.

"Hey now, I'm plenty popular with women. ...ladies not so much, I'll give you that." That was far more other Nobodys' schtick, not Xigbar's; he never did have the patience for courtin' the ladies or stuff like that. And besides, they usually weren't as fun or as willing as Xigbar liked, either. Who needed 'em?

Of course, as his hair was roughly long enough to encircle the world, Xigbar was going to be busily occupied in self-care for the foreseeable future. Great for the ladies and stuff, bad for having to take care of it. Ah well... as he continued that, he gazed pointedly at Luxord, even though he was still talking about Axel. "Considerin' the number of women we've got in the Organization? Yeah, I've learned a thing or two. 'least the couches are comfy."
