Day 34: Breakfast
[starting off in M13]
The last part of the night was little more than a blur in Homura's mind. The men had rushed in, but not joined them, instead staying off to themselves. Before any of them had a chance to react, however, a voice sounded through the air, mocking some other person Homura had never heard of, and the patients themselves.
To Homura, whoever that man was, he sounded a great deal like a god.
But before he could ask questions, the demi-god found himself no longer in the chapel, but some strange room on a bed. Is that what Kenren had meant from his earlier warning? Homura sat up, glad at least that the world didn't spin when he did so. Then the same man from before began to speak again, with a completely different tone. It was confusing to hear him talk that way, calling them patients instead of prisoners as he had before. Homura listened quietly as the announcement was made, then got out of bed.
Maybe he wouldn't have to go anywhere yet. It wasn't like Homura knew where to go anyway, and that meant he had time. If this was his room, and if he had been here as long as Kenren had said, there was a chance he could find something with answers. The Taisho had even told him that Homura had seen Rinrei. Certainly he would've written something down, made a map, something that could let him find her again! He started with the desk at the end of his bed, first finding a small stack of notebooks. Picking up the first, he flipped through, turning the pages with quickening desperation as he found each one to be blank.

Willow wasted no time as soon as she stepped into the cafeteria looking for Hokuto. She'd never forgive herself if she didn't at least make sure her friend was okay, even if they only talked for a few minutes. Once again, the nurse was picking out food for her, and left only when she made sure Willow would actually eat it.
Willow's heart sank when she finally noticed Hokuto sitting by herself, looking decidedly worse than the day before. She paused at the chair across the table from her, smiling in what she hoped was a comforting way. "Hey. Do you mind if I sit with you?"

Last night was kind of a blur, but she definitely remembered Willow's group being in the refrigerator at the same time hers was... meaning Willow saw Hokuto puking up her guts just after she ran in. I'd be worried too, if I saw someone else doing that. But, man... did I have to get so violently ill with an audience? As horrified and saddened as she still was, embarrassment was definitely adding to the mix.
"How are you doing?" she asked. "I hope last night wasn't too rough for you."

"But, I guess for you... there was a lot of rough?" she asked gently. "Are you okay?"

She took a breath, trying to stay in control. "And more selfishly, all the blood... made me flash back to dying. Remembering it on my own is one thing, but it's hard when the memory is so strong I lose myself in it." Dying itself hadn't been that bad, but it was the moment she lost everything. She had gotten a little of it back here, but it was only a reprieve.

Willow desperately wished there was something she could do for Hokuto, but she knew that was next to impossible. There really wasn't a way to console someone in a situation like this. Still, she wished she could say something, anything... anything other than silence or 'wait, people can get killed here?'
All the blood... A memory Willow was all too used to experiencing over and over flashed in front of her for a moment before she pushed it to the back of her mind. She couldn't focus on that right now. "Yeah... yeah, it's hard." The redhead looked up at Hokuto, forcing a smile back onto her face. "It's not selfish, though. It's a natural connection to make."

"I hope I didn't make you worry too much, when you saw me," she added. "I had an interesting life, but unlike my brother, usually not this interesting."

So. People actually killed here could still come back as well? Willow made a mental note to learn a little more about that and find out as much as she could about what other people here knew. Maybe when she had all the pieces...
"I was a little worried," Willow answered with a smile. "If I was alone, I would have stopped and helped you." She paused. "Was it a good thing I wasn't alone?"
