Day 34: Breakfast

[starting off in M13]

The last part of the night was little more than a blur in Homura's mind. The men had rushed in, but not joined them, instead staying off to themselves. Before any of them had a chance to react, however, a voice sounded through the air, mocking some other person Homura had never heard of, and the patients themselves.

To Homura, whoever that man was, he sounded a great deal like a god.

But before he could ask questions, the demi-god found himself no longer in the chapel, but some strange room on a bed. Is that what Kenren had meant from his earlier warning? Homura sat up, glad at least that the world didn't spin when he did so. Then the same man from before began to speak again, with a completely different tone. It was confusing to hear him talk that way, calling them patients instead of prisoners as he had before. Homura listened quietly as the announcement was made, then got out of bed.

Maybe he wouldn't have to go anywhere yet. It wasn't like Homura knew where to go anyway, and that meant he had time. If this was his room, and if he had been here as long as Kenren had said, there was a chance he could find something with answers. The Taisho had even told him that Homura had seen Rinrei. Certainly he would've written something down, made a map, something that could let him find her again! He started with the desk at the end of his bed, first finding a small stack of notebooks. Picking up the first, he flipped through, turning the pages with quickening desperation as he found each one to be blank.

Zelgadis heard the scrape of the other patient's chair against the ground, looking up just in time to see the man launch himself towards his face. His eyes widened as the man grabbed his shirt and pulled him across the table, painfully.

It was only Zelgadis' unfamiliarity with his new body that allowed the man to do this-- were his body still part-golem he would have proven to heavy to drag across the table.

Yuber's grip around the other patient's clothing tightened as he pulled him up onto the table.

"Now now now, it's not very nice to ignore others," The Black Knight murmured with a sadistic smile as he reached out to grab at the plastic knife. It wasn't good quality, and certainly wouldn't be useful in any real battle, but that's not what Yuber wanted.

Pressing his knee hard up against the other patient's spine, Yuber plunged the blunt tip of the knife hard between the soft tissue and muscle of his prey's collar bone. He didn't waste any time either as he groped out for the fork the other patient had been using. Slamming the prongs into the soft flesh of his prey's side; he purposefully just missed the pathetic human's liver. He didn't want them dead, just yet.

"Apologise, and I'll let you keep your liver unharmed." Yuber warned while digging the prongs of the fork deeper into his prey's side as a warning.

The man was clearly insane.

Digging his knee into Zelgadis' back, the man groped around the table. With a quick movement, Zelgadis realized a seering pain in his neck. He yelled out and attempted to dislodge the man, but was too slow.

Something pointy dug into his side, bringing on a pain like fire.

He scrabbled for the man's face, one arm on his now-bleeding side.

The nurse moved quickly as soon as the sounds of a scuffling could be heard. She was over there in seconds, followed by two large orderlies who immediately pulled the patient off of the other one.

"Mr. Emerson!" Moving with practiced ease, she injected him swiftly with the the sedative. She didn't like using it, but there was no choice, unfortunately. Honestly, the patients should know better.

Turning to the other patient, she gave him a concerned look. "Are you all right? We'll patch you right up. And Mr. Emerson, you will spend the remainder of your time seated alone if you can't get along with others."

The scent of blood made Yuber long for the battlefield again. He missed it, and all the Chaos and carnage created on one. It was almost euphoric, and he could feel his desire... his need to create his beloved Chaos surging out of control. The liver would be first, yes, and he would watch this pathetic human bleed a slow and painful death.

An insane laughter began pouring out of the Black Knight's mouth when his prey pitifully attempted to stop him. His enjoyment was short lived; however, as he was pulled away from his prey and felt the sharp jab in his lower side.

"WHAT IS THIS?!" Yuber cried out in outrage as the nurse struck him with the syringe. Every fiber of his being called out in anger at being denied his lust for courage. Black dots began appearing at the corner of his vision as his mind began to cloud over.

"What manner of spel.. is..." The sedative worked quickly in Yuber's body. What sort of medicine was this? His mind was growing hazy, and as his mismatched gaze flickered over towards the nurse. He was about to give a biting reply, but the drugs finally won out as he slumped into unconsciousness.

Like all days previous, today was not a good day for Zelgadis.

He watched as his attacker fell to the ground, seemingly unconscious. The pain in his abdomen was making him see black dots, but he told himself he'd face worse before.

He looked at the nurse and gave his terse reply,

"I am not in need of your assistance."

He began to stagger off in search of Amelia yet again, not realizing a fork was still sticking out from his collarbone.
