Day 34: Breakfast
[starting off in M13]
The last part of the night was little more than a blur in Homura's mind. The men had rushed in, but not joined them, instead staying off to themselves. Before any of them had a chance to react, however, a voice sounded through the air, mocking some other person Homura had never heard of, and the patients themselves.
To Homura, whoever that man was, he sounded a great deal like a god.
But before he could ask questions, the demi-god found himself no longer in the chapel, but some strange room on a bed. Is that what Kenren had meant from his earlier warning? Homura sat up, glad at least that the world didn't spin when he did so. Then the same man from before began to speak again, with a completely different tone. It was confusing to hear him talk that way, calling them patients instead of prisoners as he had before. Homura listened quietly as the announcement was made, then got out of bed.
Maybe he wouldn't have to go anywhere yet. It wasn't like Homura knew where to go anyway, and that meant he had time. If this was his room, and if he had been here as long as Kenren had said, there was a chance he could find something with answers. The Taisho had even told him that Homura had seen Rinrei. Certainly he would've written something down, made a map, something that could let him find her again! He started with the desk at the end of his bed, first finding a small stack of notebooks. Picking up the first, he flipped through, turning the pages with quickening desperation as he found each one to be blank.

Harry groaned as he woke up, rolling over and almost stabbing himself with the knife Peter had given him. Fumbling it out from under him he blinked around sleepily. Morning already? They really hadn't managed to get much done last night, except figure out that they could leave the institute grounds. Heaving an exasperated sigh he leaned down to tuck the weapon away beneath the mattress. Not the best hiding place but hopefully the staff didn't bother to search the rooms. He was just in time too, as a nurse came in to drag him off to breakfast.
Stopping to check the bulletin board he was relieved to see a message from Peter. He couldn't have gotten hurt too badly last night then. Scrawling a reply he allowed himself to herded into the cafeteria.
He looked around for Peter as he entered, wanting to see for himself that he was alright. He couldn't spot him, but there were a lot of people here, he might of missed him. Still searching, he wandered over to take a seat near a good-looking woman sitting on her own. Grinning at her he asked "Hey, you mind some company?"

"I do not mind," Fleur replied, poking at the fruit on her plate before sighing and crossing her arms. Since he wore the same type of clothing as everyone else it was clear that he wasn't a part of the staff, so she saw no need to push her ill mood onto him. Besides, since the staff wasn’t going to provide any help or information, that meant she needed to make a habit out of speaking with other patients.
Drumming her fingers against her arm, the witch looked at him for a moment then asked, "I am wondering, would you know anything about ziz place? No one I 'ave spoken to seems to know anything, and zat is..." Pausing, she shook her head and gave another sigh before continuing. "I believe ze correct word is--annoying?"

Chuckling he said "Yeah, it is a pretty annoying situation. I don't think I can help you out much though, this is only my third day here. But if you want we can compare notes, see if we can help each other. A friend of mine has been here longer so maybe I've picked some stuff up from him," he offered. "My name's Harry." He was curious why this woman was here, almost everyone he'd met so far had had some sort of powers, which raised the question what hers were. But there were more important things to worry about right now, like the attractive French woman he had for company.

While it was upsetting to hear that he hadn't been there any longer than she had, the mention of his friend sounded somewhat promising. Even if she couldn't offer much information in return, hopefully something good would come out of the conversation.
"I am afraid I do not know much. These people," here Fleur sent a pointed glare at the nearest nurse, "will not tell anything, and I 'ave been... 'aving trouble finding anything at night. Ze 'allways are confusing, and with things wanting to attack and bite you, eet's all so 'orrible."

"It's not exactly easy to get much done here at night," he said sympathetically. "I've been sticking with my friend, but we haven't really managed to achieve anything yet. Hell, he seems to have been here a while and he doesn't seem any closer to a way out than I am." Harry realised how pessimistic that sounded and added, "Not that I think it's hopeless or anything. Last night we managed to leave the grounds, which I don't think has happened before, so we're making progress."
Remembering his breakfast, he paused to gulp down a few pancakes before asking, "What about you? Know anyone here?"
