Day 34: Breakfast
[starting off in M13]
The last part of the night was little more than a blur in Homura's mind. The men had rushed in, but not joined them, instead staying off to themselves. Before any of them had a chance to react, however, a voice sounded through the air, mocking some other person Homura had never heard of, and the patients themselves.
To Homura, whoever that man was, he sounded a great deal like a god.
But before he could ask questions, the demi-god found himself no longer in the chapel, but some strange room on a bed. Is that what Kenren had meant from his earlier warning? Homura sat up, glad at least that the world didn't spin when he did so. Then the same man from before began to speak again, with a completely different tone. It was confusing to hear him talk that way, calling them patients instead of prisoners as he had before. Homura listened quietly as the announcement was made, then got out of bed.
Maybe he wouldn't have to go anywhere yet. It wasn't like Homura knew where to go anyway, and that meant he had time. If this was his room, and if he had been here as long as Kenren had said, there was a chance he could find something with answers. The Taisho had even told him that Homura had seen Rinrei. Certainly he would've written something down, made a map, something that could let him find her again! He started with the desk at the end of his bed, first finding a small stack of notebooks. Picking up the first, he flipped through, turning the pages with quickening desperation as he found each one to be blank.

He grabbed a plate of food and went to sit down at the table. He wanted a lie-in. He wanted a long night's sleep until the middle of the afternoon and he wanted his brother back and he wanted mother's milk stew and... He wanted to go home.
no subject
No, they had to remove him from the patient population for good--both to punish him for what he'd done to Tamaki, and to keep him from hurting anyone else.
Somehow, they were going to have to kill him.
Filled with this sudden, horrible new resolve, Hikaru walked over to where Ed was sitting by himself. They hadn't exactly seen eye-to-eye in the past, but now they had a common goal.
"We need to get rid of Envy. Tell me what I need to do."
no subject
He hadn't expected for Hikaru to offer to help him get rid of Envy, and for a good long moment, Ed could only stare dumbly at the other boy. "The only way to get rid of him is by killing him permanently," he said slowly after a moment. "And I don't even know if that's possible here. I don't have any of his ah... human remains to weaken him with." He looked up, meeting Hikaru's eyes. "Tamaki wouldn't want you to get involved in killing someone."
no subject
He was quiet for several moments, wondering how best to answer that. Of course Tamaki wouldn't want him to be involved. But when had that ever stopped him before? Still, relatively harmless pranks were on a completely different level from homicide.
But he had to go through with this.
"That's why Tamaki isn't going to know," he said finally. "Kaoru and I owe him...everything, just about. He dragged us out of our shell and into the real world. He was our first friend. I can't just let that bastard get away with what he did to him."
no subject
He smiled weakly at Hikaru. "He was my first friend too. Him and Adel." There was Winry but she was more like a sister, and various other people who he'd met, but never anyone who could really be a friend. "I won't let him get away with what he's done, but he's dangerous, really dangerous. And it'll be tough to make sure Tamaki doesn't know."
no subject
Once he'd regained his composure, he turned back. "You've got to promise me that you will get rid of him," he said, resigned. "And that you're going to smile for Tamaki, all right? He's suffering enough as is. We can't let him see how much this is getting to us."
And then, suddenly, a though occurred to him. A very good thought. One filled with his usual twinly awesomeness. He couldn't wait to tell Kaoru later!
A slow smile spread across his face. "Did you know that Tamaki grew up in a country called France?" he asked innocently. "In our world, French is called the language of love. Why...don't you try talking to him in his original tongue?" Hikaru grabbed a pen from his pocket and started to write on a napkin, which he then passed to Ed.
"French is really tricky. If a consonant is at the end of a word, it's silent. But...this is very romantic. It was even used in a song that was popular in my mother's generation. This is how you pronounce it:
"Voulez-vou coucher avec moi?"
no subject
He nodded seriously. "I will. If there's any way that I can, I will," he replied genuinely. Everyone at home and now everyone here. He managed a weak smile in response and nodded. "Yeah. He needs that, I think."
Uh... he blinked at the sudden change in topic, giving Hikaru a baffled look. "I've never even heard of France, I don't think and..." Language of love? That sounded ominous. He watched as Hikaru scribbled something down and then spoke the words. He repeated it carefully, still baffled. "You really think that'll make him feel better?"
no subject
After all, maybe all Tamaki needed was some of that Sexual Healing.

He looked the paper over carefully, comitting it to memory. Well, if it made Tamaki feel better than that was good.
no subject
He really, really hoped that Ed asked Tamaki in the showers next shift. That would be even more hilarious than if he did it when all their clothes were on.
