Nightshift 33: Doctor's Office 3 (Muraki)
[From here]
The door broke down after a few good slams against it. It made it all the more clear that Tyki lacked the powers to simply pass through the damned thing, but there wasn't all that much he could do about that right now. Besides, there was something much more important on his mind right now; smokes!
Leaving the door open, he glanced around for a moment. He could make out the chaise lounge against the wall along with a bookshelf in the corner. Though the Noah liked reading once in a while, the books didn't really interest him right now. He figured that if there would be any cigarettes around, they'd be lying somewhere on the desk.
But not on it's surface, as Tyki eventually concluded after rummaging through it. The drawers were still left, and the Noah wouldn't leave the office before making sure there weren't any in there either. He pulled open the first one he could reach, dumping it's contents on the surface of the desk as he rummaged through it. One of its contents included a used ash tray (which only served to make the Noah more hopeful), and soon after a pack of cigarettes followed.
It was his lucky night!
"Finally some smokes!" he exclaimed to no one in particular, pleased he had finally found what he was looking for after nearly two nicotine-deprived days. It was half-empty, but right now Tyki was happy with anything.

"That's a terrible thing to say," he looked downcast for only a moment, shocked out of his act when the Noah started banging on one of the doors, obviously intent on breaking the thing down. And all for some nasty cigarettes? Allen made no move to help and the thought that Tyki ought to have passed through the door didn't occur to him until after he entered the room, following behind.
It was something of a relief to think that the Noah might not have that particular ability. Then again, perhaps he, like Allen, was just preserving his strength for when he really needed it. Allen wasn't about to take any chances.

Her attention came away from Allen again, this time because of the door getting knocked down. It wasn't like Tyki to break things; that was her area. "Tyki, can't you just go through it next time?" She didn't mind the bit of destruction, but it had been loud and had taken her focus away from thinking on how to "play" with Allen Walker. "And cigarettes are nasty," she added with a scrunched face.
She actually didn't know that they were, but they smelled bad, and the Earl was always telling her they were bad too and not to ever try one. Admittedly, she was a tad curious, but she'd yet to have the chance to break the Earl's rule about it and sneak one to try.
no subject
"Yeah, yeah." he replied to both of Rhode's comments. It wasn't the first time he received a lecture about his smoking habbits. Who cared if they were nasty? Or bad? All bad things were fun, anyway. Besides, they really had no idea what it was like having to go without nicotine for nearly two days. Two days! Tyki was fairly sure he had broken a personal 'non-smoking' record. And that while he didn't even intend to break it in the first place.
His golden eyes glanced at the mess he had made on the desk, holding the cigarettes in one hand. Now he just needed something to light them with. It'd be a very, very bad joke if there wasn't anything lying around to help him with that.
no subject
So the first doctor's office had been perfectly clear of anything useful. Well, there had to be something around here, 'cause at least one of these offices had a crack under the door, and Alkaid could very vaguely smell cigarettes. Or maybe that was coming from outside, she wasn't sure.
Instead of opting for another non-opened door this time, Alkaid had chosen to spare her bruised hand and instead walked inside a door that was already open. Oh, already people in here, huh? She eyed them all warily, freezing up. No one attacked her instantly, but that was probably because they were all other patients and not, like, monsters.
Her flashlight arrived on Tyki first - probably dangerous for him, because Badou would be entering right after.. and she knew what he would see immediately.
"Bingo," was all she said. She couldn't help but grin.
no subject
As it was, trying to take cigarettes from the Noah was probably a very bad idea. "U-um," he started, more concerned about the welfare of the newcomers than anything else.
no subject
no subject
Tyki?
"Hey, you let him go!" she ordered, pointing at the scene but refusing to leave Allen Walker's neck. What did the human think he was doing, latching onto her family like that?! He had no right!
no subject
"Hi," she said to the two who weren't involved in the scuffle. Her flashlight didn't leave the brawl, finding it kind of interesting.. like a gladiator brawl, or something.
"Uhh, sorry about my friend." Did she just call Badou her friend? No way. She didn't mean it, and it was plain as day that he wasn't paying attention to her. She'd just forget she said it. "The guy likes his cigarettes."
Maybe in a bit she'd walk over and try to grab Badou off of the other guy, but for now it was pretty funny, even though he was probably about to get his ass kicked.
no subject
"A-ah, well," he stuttered, trying to keep track of everything at once. "N-no, I'm more worried about your friend... that... isn't the best person to pick a fight with. C-couldn't they just share?" He looked worriedly from one side of the room to the other.

no subject
But then that little girl had to make a comment, and she turned to raise an eyebrow, then glanced at the silver-haired guy. "Hey, shut your girlfriend up. I could care less about Badou kicking it, 'cause then I'd have his flashlight, but I owe him big!"
no subject
Slightly less surprised was the statements to follow, "But... he could die! That doesn't matter at all to you?!" What was wrong with these people?
no subject
Correcting Allen, most definitely!
"Don't denyyyyyyy it Allen," Rhode immediately purred in his ear, continuing to ignore the other woman for the most part. Why focus on her (or on the fight they were so intent on talking about) when she could focus on Allen and his adorable denial? It was so much more fun to tease than cheer and threaten.
no subject
...Not that knew what it was like to be overbearing. She didn't go for those kind of guys, anyway.
She laughed. "Sure she's not your girlfriend." Then she grinned at the girl. "It's best to be persistent with guys like this! Do your best!" She made a fist, rooting Rhode on.
Turning back to the fight that was going on, then, Alkaid winced at what looked like a pretty harsh blow. "Ehhh, no one dies from fistfights. If the lunk looks like he's gonna lose I'll drag him away, simple as that. What, your friend some kind of powerhouse?" She raised her eyebrows.
no subject
"They may not look it, but these two are a threat to humanity," he explained, pointing out both Tyki and Rhode. "They want to destroy everyone... it's just a good thing they don't have full use of their abilities. We're enemies, certainly not anything you're insinuating!"
no subject
Back at Allen she dug her nails in, refusing to let go just yet and threatening blood if he tried any further attempts to detach her. Once she was confident with her hold, she detoured around his ears and moved lower, nuzzling his neck and giving it a cute lick as though she were a little puppy. Or, in this case a kitty, since kitties were much cuter anyway. "Meooooooow," she teased, "Allen's all mine whether he admits to it or not."
Her grinning turned into pouting when Allen called her and Tyki both threats. Maybe they were to humanity, but that was disposable. Overrated too. Sure she had some human in her, but that wasn't at all what made her special. "Don't talk like that Allen, it's not nice," she scolded him for his words and had a mind to bite his neck next if he kept being rude.
no subject
The girl hanging off of this Allen guy didn't need any more encouraging, though, so Alkaid nodded at her - when she noticed that a knife had come into the cute little squabble. Suddenly it wasn't so cute
not like Badou was ever cutebut something more dangerous. She took a step forward. "Uhh. Hey!" She had half a mind to pull Badou away from the situation and run like their lives depended on it - but if he didn't think he could take this guy, he wouldn't be fighting him, right? That or he was blinded by the cigarettes...
no subject
"Rhode, that's enough!" he shouted, attempting to pull her off of him forcibly this time, regardless of the injuries that might result. "I don't belong to anyone, least of all you!"
The girl's question caught him off-guard though. "Because if I don't..." he started, looking away for a moment. It was then that he caught sight of the turn the fight had taken. It'd gone from a simple brawl to knives in a matter of moments! As soon as he was free of Rhode, he'd have to put a stop to this!
no subject
With his hands on his neck she couldn't bite him there like she'd initially thought, but her first target was open now. Leaning up again, she went for his ear again and nipped at it harder than a playful puppy might this time - two sharp canines right into the earlobe. She may as well have been giving him a piercing for the hole she was about to leave.
no subject
Tyki's knife hit nothing but thin air as the Badou dodged. But before he could attempt another attack, the other man had raised to his feet and began darting out of the room, dragging the girl with the flashlight with him. The Noah blinked.
He guessed that had been a pretty wise decision.
But it was still disappointing. He was just beginning to find this entertaining. The Noah had half the mind to go and chase them, but instead shrugged and decided to pick up the remainder of the cigarettes. No sense leaving these around because of that. This place was only so big, and he'd probably run into him sooner or later. They could continue to play another little game, but for tonight Redhead had been lucky.
Tyki rose back to his feet, using his sleeve to clean off the blood that still ran from his nose. Golden eyes glanced over the desk, but concluded the same thing that he had before Redhead had latched onto him. He frowned.
Jeez, there was nothing to light them with. This had been unnecessarily bothersome...
no subject
"Ouch! Let go, let go!"
Despite his pain, he noticed that the two visitors had left at least, so they weren't in danger anymore. But it left him to deal with Tyki... he could only hope the man wasn't craving blood after his scuffle. He could feel blood running from the new wound and down the side of his neck, but he didn't dare pull her off for fear he'd lose the whole ear if he tried.
no subject
He was smart not to pull away otherwise Rhode would have taken off a chunk of flesh in the aftermath. Probably would have been just as tasty as his blood, that, but she was fine with the red liquid for now. She'd let go when she was good and ready to.
no subject
She'd stepped forward, about to yank Badou away from this creepy guy, when she saw a blur of red and suddenly he had her by the wrist. He didn't have time to react; he wouldn't let go, and she didn't particularly want him to.
"Aaah!" With only a surprised cry as a goodbye, Alkaid ran after him. It was all she could do.
[to here (http://community.livejournal.com/damned/396102.html?thread=32649030#t32649030) after Badou. LOLLL SORRY FOR THE BAZILLION REPLIES]
no subject
Stuffing the smokes and the knife back into his pocket, he approached the pair still remaining in the office. "Oi! what are you doing, Rhode?" The Noah commented. His 'niece' was practically molesting the Exorcist. "You like him that much?" If anything wasn't an understatement, than that was.
A little irritated because he couldn't smoke right now? Probably.
[LOL~! I'm sorry for inbox raep too~!]

"Mmmm!" Rhode made another noise during her hold, this one of acknowledgment, as she sucked in just a little more blood before taking her bite away to speak. "Of course I do, Tyki. You know I've kissed him before, right~?" Or maybe he didn't. Tyki hadn't been there as he should have when she'd wanted to kiss Allen at the top of the Ark. Maybe that information would be a surprise for her "uncle" to hear. And now that she thought about it... "Don't tell Sheryl," was added in warning.
no subject
"What?!" Tyki blinked, dumbfounded for a second by the new information he was receiving from his family member. "You've kissed him?! When?!" The Noah didn't even bother hiding his surprise. He had never seen the other Noah kiss anyone else but the Millennium Earl himself, so yes, claiming that he'd be surprised by the information would be an understatement. He had been aware that Rhode liked him, but...this?
"You know he's an Exorcist, right?" Not to rain on her parade or anything, but that was kind of the problem here.
Right, Sheryl...Tyki wouldn't like to think about how he was going to react if he ever found out about this.
no subject
"I didn't- that is... I wasn't- I... That... that's really not important right now!" he said finally, trying to change the subject. "You said you wouldn't hurt anyone, but you nearly killed that other boy!"
no subject
Now that her attention wasn't so fixated on her toy, she noticed that they were the only ones there in the office. "Hey Tyki, did you kill that redhead or not?" she asked suddenly, remembering that there had been a fight going on during her torture of Allen.
no subject
As for the guy that had just high-tailed it out of here...
"Redhead is a full-grown man, boy." Tyki couldn't help but to correct Allen. Like some brat would be able to hit his nose and make it bleed, so that was something that obviously needed to be corrected. "Besides, I'm not the one that started it." It wasn't his fault that the other guy decided to provoke him with pushing his palm into his face. The Exorcist was clearly overreacting.
"No, he ran off." he answered to Rhode, then changed the subject; "Anyway, I don't suppose any of you got a light?" Probably not, but it was worth a shot.
no subject
As for the other argument, Allen didn't see how it mattered if the other person was called a boy or a man, the fact of the matter still remained, that he'd hurt someone else. Why couldn't they both just share the stupid cigarettes? It seemed like a really silly thing to fight over in the first place, but Allen left it at that. "I don't have one," he said with a sigh.
no subject
It was kind of sad that Tyki hadn't killed the other person; he'd deserved it! Looked like her's was the only fresh blood in the room. Not that she was complaining.
When Tyki asked about a light, she only gave him a 'do you really think I'd have something for your icky smokes' look that would have been easily understood. Even if she had had access to her candles, she would have needed some kind of compensation before she'd let him have it. Maybe a promise to help her with her homework over the next moth without being allowed to complain. Something like that.
no subject
If Rhode had chosen to voice the compensation, the Noah wouldn't have been sure which of the two would have been worse; not being able to smoke or having to help her with homework for a whole month without complaining. But right now he was just hating this place for the sole reason of there being a lack of means to do something about the nicotine withdrawal. And what kind of idiot kept smokes in his desk without a lighter anyway?
"Let's go already." he eventually said, and began walking out of the office.
[Back here (http://community.livejournal.com/damned/404856.html?thread=32700792#t32700792)]

Badou was fairly sure he'd just lost his precious flashlight. That taught him not to make nice gestures. He followed Alkaid into the next office, barely paying attention to the opened door because there were no smokes and he was all heartbroken and shit. He hadn't gotten around to the stirring my-heart-will-go-on part of his mood yet.
And then he saw them in the light of heaven. Like a signal from god almighty. Like a chorus of ten fucking million naked virgin angels having a hot lesbian orgy right in front of him. A soft voice in his head said 'Hit it, Badou. Hit it like the fist of an angry god.'
Badou was across the room in moments, hand closing around the pack while he tried to pry it free of the weird obstruction that it was attached to. He propped a foot against said obstruction and tried to use it for leverage. "Come to daddy~ I'll never desert you again~"
no subject
One moment someone suddenly decided to shine a flashlight onto him. The next another person stood in front of his nose, attempting to pull the pack of smokes he had just found out of his hand. And to top it all off, a foot was suddenly propped against his leg. What the hell?!
Tyki recognized the person in front of him as the Redhead from breakfast, with whom he had whined for nicotine together. But more importantly, those were his smokes the guy was trying to steal. He had stolen them first, and the Noah wasn't about to stand by and watch someone take them.
"Oi! I got here first, Redhead. Find your own cigarettes!" the 'weird obstruction' warned. He gave Badou a push with his free hand, trying to pull the pack out of the other man's grasp with the other.
no subject
"Ehh?" There was only one person in the world that called him Redhead. Badou glanced up. Alkaid's flashlight beam was still strong, so he could be sure he saw slicked-back hair and a row of crosses and someone who looked almost entirely different from the man he'd met that morning. It was weird. Too different. Maybe they were brothers or something...?
Ah well, it just meant he didn't have to listen. Things might have gotten a little complicated if he actually knew this guy. He totally ignored the peanut gallery comments in favour of negotiating with the thing holding his cigarettes.
Badou let go with one hand and used it to push the other man away via palm-to-the-face while he continued to pry at the pack of cigarettes. "No way! I've been searching half the night, starving and clawing my way through the darkness with almost alone and you just waltz in and take them? No fucking way. I just want one! Have some pity on your fellow man! Sharing is caring!"
no subject
He was just about to counter Badou's overly dramatic words when he suddenly got a palm straight into his face. Tyki stubbornly held his grip onto the pack even when he stumbled backwards. Like he was going to pity and share smokes with someone who had just put a palm into his face and accused him for taking the cigarettes. If anyone wanted the Noah to share smokes, that definitely wasn't the way to do it.
"You're the one waltzing in, Redhead." Tyki countered after regaining his balance. He had been searching for smokes just as well, and he stole them fairly. "I've warned you."
Kind of a pity, the chat with Redhead this morning had been fun. But it didn't take much for his blood lust to awaken in his black form, and it was Badou's own fault for provoking him. Cheating Boy A was right; Tyki Mikk wasn't the best person to pick a fight with.
The Noah aimed his arm for Badou's chest with the full intend to go through it. It was the least bothersome solution to the problem, and he might as well see if his powers still worked or not. And if they didn't...well, it would be the old-fashioned blow to the chest instead.
[ooc; note (just in case); Tyki's powers won't work, so it's just going to be a blow to the chest if Badou doesn't dodge it :)]
no subject
Still, the range was pretty close and Badou was clinging stubbornly to the cigarette pack so Tyki's fist caught him square in the left side of the chest. Badou grunted, but the pain would have been a lot worse if this guy knew how to pick his targets. A cocksure grin spread across his face.
He pulled with the hand holding the cigarettes, keeping the prize out of the way while his own fist headed straight for the man's stomach.
no subject
Instead of going though the other man's chest, like he had intended, the fist connected with his target instead. It shouldn't have been a problem for Tyki, to simply put his arm through a body and take any organ he could get his hands on. But it didn't work! No Tease, no abilities...this definitely sucked. Now he'd have to go with the bothersome task of doing this the old-fashioned way. Like those brawls he had gotten in more often than not when in his white form; when he had
cheatedwon with poker and his opponent happened to be a sore loser. Those usually took some longer. Not really Tyki's favorite type of combat, but at least he had some experience. Fine, if he couldn't solve this the black way, he'd have to do it the white way. Or something.Redhead had reacted with aiming a blow to Tyki's stomach, causing the Noah more pain than what actually should be the case, even despite the fact it was on close range. He let out a grunt as he doubled over, but still outright refused to let go of the pack. Because if he did, things would get complicated.
But now Redhead was even closer to him. Again using his free hand, he aimed a punch to the other man's jaw.
no subject
...Well, ok, no he didn't. He let the blood gather in his mouth for a wobbly second then spit it at the gentleman's eyes. The heel of his palm followed swiftly, trying to smash pretty boy's nose back into his skull.
Sure he was no beauty queen, but damned if he wasn't a little bit ticked about being the only guy here with a broken nose.
no subject
And that proved to be pretty much a valid point when something hard hit his nose. His head was knocked backwards because of the impact, and that was unmistakably his own blood running out of it. It hurt like hell, about to the point where Tyki wasn't sure whether it was broken or not. The Noah wondered for a split second how his body suddenly got so weak, but he guessed it must have had something to do with this place.
He stumbled back a few paces, regaining his balance. Tyki wasn't about to be the only one bleeding for these smokes. Ignoring the blood running down his nose, a wide grin appeared on his features. The Noah was about to aim another punch at the other man, aiming it right at the guy's stomach-
- when the pack of cigarettes suddenly ripped in two. The Noah still held his own half when he paused his attack, watching it's contents fell on the floor.
Well, wasn't that random?
no subject
More importantly there were defenceless cigarettes on the floor. It was fucking sacrilegious. Badou dove for them, trying to grab them in handfuls. He manged three on his first shot and pressed one between his lips before his hand shot out for more. The fight be damned. It was every man for himself.
no subject
"No you won't, Redhead." Tyki said, his voice most likely sounding very lame thanks to all the blood and God-knows-what-else running out of his nose. "I'm still here right now."
What kind of idiot turned his back to a Noah? Badou's dive to the floor practically yelled 'opening', and who was he not to answer it? Tyki shamelessly aimed a kick at Badou's body, intending to get him out of the way so that he could reclaim his smokes without some Redhead with an eye patch crawling in the way.
no subject
Badou retaliated the only way he could. He painted on the most incredulous look this side of a virgin in a whore house and stared. "Wow, that's amazing. I would have never fucking noticed without your foot ten inches into my ass. You got a light cocksucker? No? Then shut the fuck up."
Stubbornly, he reached for more cigarettes.
no subject
"Why don't you shut up, Redhead? You don't have one either, do you?" Tyki countered. And now that he actually had the chance, he reached for the kitchen knife he had found on the second floor last night. That probably didn't get him any points for creativity, or fairness, but who cared? He was getting bored with just fists, and the claim that he'd kill for smokes wasn't exactly an understatement.
"Hey! Didn't I tell you not to?" The Noah answered to Badou's attempt to get more cigarettes, and lashed out to the guy's outstretched hand with the knife. "Like I'd let you take some more."
no subject
At least this guy was nice enough to announce when he was going to attack. Man, he loved stupid people. Stupid people with knives...not so much. He snatched his hand back out of the way so fast it was way more desperate than cocky. Rolling back onto his hunches looked like part of the same movement.
He could stand quick now - and bolt. This was enough to last him another hour of searching. "That so?" Badou raised one of his hands and displayed two more cigarettes pressed between his thumb and forefinger. "Says here you can kiss my sweet virgin asshole."
no subject
But the Noah wasn't about to give up just yet. His hand clenched his knife just a little tighter as another grin - one that was so wide that it was nearly inhumane - spread across his features. Without another moment of hesitation, Tyki thrust the blade forward in an attempt to stab him. If he couldn't take some vital organ the usual way, he could always attempt to carve it out.
no subject
Alkaid was going to complain later but she'd stepped forward enough for him to snake an arm out and grab her by the wrist on his way. "Thanks~" Badou called back, his voice saturated in sugar. Never let it be said that he wasn't polite.
