Nightshift 33: Disciplinary Therapy Room 4 (M-U for Shadow)

The doctor stood, face and head covered in a surgical mask and cap, looming over the prone form strapped to the stretcher. He was a pretty thing, young, strong. And about to be broken.

He enjoyed it when there was such an easy way in. It would be a simple matter, and so entertaining. Bringing the proud down a few pegs, reminding these dogs of their place. They needed a kick now and again.

He smiled behind his mask and waited for his 'patient' to wake up.

"I trust him," Shadow said softly, holding onto the belief that Valyn wouldn't be able to succumb to his father's demands if they were this extreme. "I will put my life in his hands. If he kills me... I'd rather it be him then you."

"He won't do it," Shadow insisted, fear and doubt in the back of his mind. "I'll prove to you that he won't."

Shadow groaned as he felt his mind being squeezed and shoved into a cage. He shook his head, trying to fight against the magic that was cutting off his personality. It was difficult to do since his magic was already hard to access but he still struggled, not wanting to make this easy for Dyran. If he was going to be culled he'd go down with a fight.

No! Shadow thought as he mentally beat at the bars that held him captive. This was worse then being completely culled, he thought. He was forced to stare out of his own eyes as if he was occupying a complete stranger. Being a prisoner in his own mind made him panic and he railed against Dyran, his curses cut off by Dyran's own magic.

Shadow bowed his head, blinking slowly. "My Lord," he said, his voice almost wooden as it lacked any real emotion.

The spinning room made Shadow dizzy and he closed his eyes, needing to hold his dinner down. Shadow's thoughts spun and he willed his arm to push against the straps, to free himself and lunge at Dyran but no matter how he tried he didn't have control of his arms. It was frustrating and he shouted yet no sound left his lips. Shadow was mute and only mildly winced as the scenery began to change.

Like throwing you through the wall and lighting your damn underwear on fire you bastard.

"Tired, my lord," Shadow replied, his eyes cast downward. "I fear that there is something wrong with my nose. I am in quite a bit of pain but if my master wishes it to remain so then I will be happy to keep it that way."

Someone was coming for him? Of course they were. It was silly to think that his absence would go unnoticed. Valyn must be tearing his hair out with worry, not to mention Shana and Keman. Still, Shadow wasn't certain he wanted them to find him. He wasn't himself and the last thing he wanted was to see the look on Valyn's face when he found him collared.

And there was still the worry that Lord Dyran was lurking, waiting to strike and hurt Valyn...

He was free to move and he tried to force his body to listen to him but a stranger was in control. The stranger nodded his head and sat up, his head throbbing from the beating he had taken from Dyran's hands. "I will do as my Master wishes," the stranger murmured in Shadow's voice and he kept his head down, looking at the too-white floor of the room.
