Nightshift 33: West Wing - Hall 2 A
[from here]
She'd been here before. She knew this particular hallway well. left hand trailing along the wall, the Bride counted her steps in the darkness. Three doors to the left, just as they'd been there the two previous nights. Now, there was just the one directly ahead of her.
Beatrix's fingertips made contact with the door before her, alerting her to its presence. She grasped the knob and paused, taking a moment to replay over the fight with the winged-snak creature and the layout of the patio on the other side. She nodded to herself; she was ready.

The last hallway before his first destination. Was it really this easy? Maybe the monsters were attracted to groups...or maybe whatever crackling sound he'd heard during the radio broadcast had prevented them from materializing. If that was the case, he'd add a few more tasks to the night's list.

Odd. It seems still no one else was up on this level. Beatrix continued back down the hallway. She needed to get back down the stairs and find Mion. She paused at the last door in the hallway, though, thinking she heard a sound on the other side of it. With a small shake of her head, she continued on.

Mello left the door to the library open and entered the hallway, once again alert to any sound or change in the environment. He could hear sounds of combat in the distance, around the corner in the direction he needed to proceed if he hoped to make it to the pharmacy.
Two options: try to run past the fight, or move in the other direction towards the chemical storage. If he went with the former, he risked being trapped in the pharmacy by a turned patient, and it was too early in the evening for that. Mello was traveling alone, meaning that if his current theories on time were correct, he had the greatest allotment of it.
Towards the chemicals, then.

The hallway was entirely dark aside from the flashlight, which felt almost like a welcoming beacon to potential attack. She was sure it was her own perception, but the hallway felt narrow too, and threatening. Nowhere to go but to run back if something came out at them from ahead. And if it came from above, or behind? She didn't keep the flashlight at one angle, checking corners and walls. It was a touch of paranoia, but Seiya wasn't in the mood to offer up any more of her own flesh tonight.

A couple other patients passed them, but Leon refused to give in to impatience and hurry ahead. Let them run into the monsters, if there were any! Gesturing with his makeshift spear, Leon indicated that they should follow behind the other patients, and hoped that Seiya would not scoff at the obvious tactic of using the strangers as bait or shields.

It was almost too easy. Ever since he'd arrived, there hadn't been a time when there wasn't some beast or monster or other creature after him at night. Yet they'd come this far untouched. He walked slowly, making his way down the hall. It ought to be just up ahead. He was glad for the darkness though, at least it kept the worry from showing on his face.

Perhaps it was just another trap of this place, to put them at their ease before they encountered something particularly dangerous.
Remembering the twisted parodies of nurses that he'd encountered the night before, the guardian remained highly alert as the small group made their way down the hall and toward the door at the end.

It seemed like Edward wasn't going to be following. That was fine, however; Adelheid could continue on anyway, and perhaps finish what he had to before time was up. He didn't have time to waste; so he continued on, hurrying as quickly as he could.
