Nightshift 33: M51-M60 Hallway
That announcement had been... interesting, to say the least. The result of the new people over the radio? It was something worth looking into when he'd be more capable of defending himself and others. Right now his wounded arm made too much exploring a bad idea. He'd head to Usopp's tonight and see if the pirate needed any help.
The fact that his roommate hadn't showed up was worrying given the happenings tonight. But if he'd been taken for either Special Counseling or the CM-US sessions there would be no means for him to stop it at this point. It wasn't good, but the boy should return the next morning.
Then again, hadn't he just been taken to be brainwashed not too long before? It was strange that they'd take the same person more than once, especially this soon after the last time.
That was more than Sai needed to worry about at the moment, however. Itachi should have plans, according to the bulletin, so there shouldn't be any reason to wait around and see if he'd be stopping by. He'd simply head to the pirate's room before the usual rush.

His portable torch's light had begun to fade, so he left it behind. There was nothing else to bother taking with him, so he ventured out into the hall.

Once Aidou had changed into his pants and shirt and was tying his tie into place, he considered what to bring with him. Where had been the question he'd absently pondered since his time in the greenhouse, and he'd come to the conclusion that a little exploration was in order...
Which meant the flashlight, unnecessary prop as it was, would be stupid to take with him. What did he have to justify to Wolfram? Being able to see in complete darkness wasn't that amazing of an ability.
So the only thing Aidou chose to take with him was the radio, stuffed into a pocket. At that the last minute, however, the noble grabbed Gaara's baseball bat as well. Perhaps better for the both of them.

Maaaaaan, he couldn't wait! He'd spent way too much time in one place for his own good! With bow and arrows in hand, and his shirt remaining on for the first time ever, the Nobody started moving with a jaunty tune being whistled.

It took a lot of effort, but Fox managed to get to his feet. He had to hold onto furniture and the wall as he went to retrieve his sword from it's hiding place. Holding it in one hand he went as steadily as he could to the door and out into the hallway.
Standing up straight was almost impossible, and every step was painful. This was going to be a very, very long night.
There was a faint blue glow coming from beneath the back of his shirt where the implants were, but he didn't have time to pay any attention to that, and there wasn't much that could be done about it.

This was going to be a rough night. The prosecutor packed his coat pockets with scalpels, pens, extra flashlight batteries, his pillowcase, and his notebook, the latter going into an inside pocket. He was not going to lose that again.
Finally, he took out his flashlight. He started to head for the door, but had to pause to let another wave of anxiety and nausea pass before he could leave.
Miles couldn't shake the feeling that there was something bad waiting for him somewhere in the Institute tonight.

Just a couple of halls over, and Sanosuke was pretty damn familiar with the route by now. He barely even needed to use the light stick, though he still did, just to be sure there wasn't stuff around. Last thing he needed was to run into another bug or damn ghost thing like had happened the two nights prior. At least before he met up with his group.
Sanosuke knocked this time, hard bangs with his left hand, but didn't pause before he opened the door. "Hey, Kenshin. You're here, right?" He had understood the talk about some people getting taken, and hell if he was going to let that happen to his best friend without a fight.
Re: M55
There was already someone waiting outside the door, and Matt could only assume it was one of the two he was supposed to be exploring with. If he was knocking on the door then he wasn't the one he'd spoken with on the board. That one had been Himura Kenshin - Japanese with Himura as the surname judging by how he'd responded. That meant this one was Sagara (also likely a surname but he wasn't going to place bets yet).
He stopped to catch his breath after the dash from his room, then gave the man a light wave. "Yo," he greeted with a smile.
Re: M55
"Just a moment, please!" he called, grabbing his sword. Once the sakabatou was safely at his hip, he gently opened the door. It was almost surprising that Sanosuke hadn't put a dent in it.
"Sano, do you really have to attack the door every--oh, hello!" Apparently his friend wasn't the only one who had arrived at his doorstep. The rurouni gave the young man a bright smile. "Robin Prower-dono?"
Re: M55
Then Kenshin had the door open, and Sano couldn't help but laugh at the cut off complaint. "Don't tell me you've started having a thing for doors too, Kenshin. Bad enough Okita's got it."
Turning back to Robin, Sano used his thumb to point to the rurouni and then to himself in turn. "This is Himura Kenshin, and I'm Sagara Sanosuke." It was about his turn to do the introductions, right? "Just call me Sanosuke though."
Re: M55
He knew Mello had been experimenting with languages on the board, but as an experiment of his own, he switched to Japanese. He knew his was damn good, but he still had an accent. Would they notice? "Just Robin is fine, Himura-san. Sanosuke." He nodded to each. "I'm afraid I'm unarmed as of yet, but maybe we can rectify that tonight."
Re: M55
"All right then, Robin-dono." Old habits died hard, after all. "We'll see what we can do for you, of course, but do you favor any specific weapons?" It was always good strategy to know your allies' strengths before you went into a battle.
"Sano, how's your hand?"
Re: M55
Equally unaware of the test, Sano shrugged. "I'm just along like always. We're going upstairs, yeah?" The fighter glanced at Robin, then grinned again. "It's not going to be a big deal, I don't think. You don't have to get nervous and start talking funny." Didn't really make it seem like they were off to face horrors beyond imagination, but Sano usually managed to stay in good spirits through most things. Besides, he didn't see much point in getting freaked out.
At least not until they actually ran into something.
Re: M55
As for Kenshin's question, "I don't know if I'd be able to get a hold of the sort of weapon I'm used to here." He'd already heard that a gun would be hard to come by. "And I'm not any good at close combat. It would have to be something ranged. I can adjust."
Re: M55
And Robin was right. It was going to be extremely difficult to procure a pistol in this place.
"Can you throw? Small knives are fairly easy to come by, in this place, and this one has also seen pens being used as weapons." Kenshin was lucky that Okita hadn't done him serious injury with that blasted pen. Homura hadn't been quite as lucky.
Re: M55
"Hey, we can talk while we go, right?" Not that Sanosuke was in a hurry or anything. It was just that he didn't like the idea of standing around much, especially when time seemed to go by so damn fast sometimes. "Let's start, and we'll figure things out when get there, right?"
They'd agree. Or Sano would look like an idiot heading off by himself. Either way, wouldn't be the first time.

1) Find his gauntlet
or
2) Find Nakago, then find his gauntlet
Both involved searching. It was a matter of picking the direction.

M13 was in the next block, but it would be a short trip.

Hadn't that maggot given out a room number yesterday? M94?
Without giving his surroundings much thought, he quickly moved towards the next hallway. Hopefully no one would be as dumb to bother him tonight.

Now, where was it Rude had said? M51, right?
Locating the correct room, Reno headed inside. It was empty, which made it easier. He was really up to explaining why he was digging through a closet.
It didn't take long to find the metal pipes; there were only so many places you could stick the damn things, after all. Grabbing everything, he slipped back out.

With no idea what proof he was looking for, he set out into the night (http://community.livejournal.com/damned/392840.html#comments).
