Night Shift 32: Main Hallway 2-Center (Includes Sun Room halls)

[running from here]

John grabbed Wolfram's arm and ran, his flashlight bouncing around in his grip. He needed to get a grip. He couldn't freak out. Freaking out led to rash decisions and he couldn't afford those at the moment. It didn't help that he kept hearing his mother hurrying him on in his head.

Run, John! You don't stop! You always run!

"Yeah, yeah, run... I got it, but where?" he said to no one as he paused only a moment before dragging Wolfram down to the right, aiming for the doors across from him. "Let's hope my good luck holds out and one of those doors is open."

This was it, a fight. Seiya paused, bracing herself, although the fight seemed to be between patients and all of them seemed focused enough on each other. Sometimes patients were brainwashed into fighting each other, sometimes monsters looked like people, basic Introduction To Landel's information. In a way, it was almost pleasant to think that here, all one had to do was incapacitate the crazed patient, and by morning they'd be healed and normal... assuming they could be incapacitated without killing, of course. Still easier than having no other choice.

She didn't speak up, not intending to draw attention to their movements if she could avoid it, but did look to Leon again, to see if he'd prefer trying to run past or trying another direction for now.

It was inevitable, but still Leon cursed mentally when they ran into a fight in progress. A brainwashed patient, too, so probably quite formidable. "Stick close to the wall and make a run for it. Patients get their full powers back when they're turned against us." Hopefully Seiya didn't have one of those pesky hero complexes and wouldn't insist on staying behind to 'help'.

Just to emphasize the point, Leon said darkly, "I'm not sticking around to find out what this guy's full strength is. If you do, you're on your own." And with that, he made his dash for the eastern end of the hall.
