Nightshift 20: Block M41-M80 by Men's Bathrooms
((coming from here ))
Takaya frowned while he walked. He hated not having anything to defend himself. The blond guy he was following didn't look very promising either.
He was already sick of this crap, and he'd only just gotten started. He really wanted out, and it didn't look too bad right now. If they could avoid trouble and meet up with this person, then maybe Takaya could learn something useful. He clenched a fist around his still off flashlight while following Ginji.

And he really wished Hakkai (what kind of name was Hakkai?) would stop smiling like that. He fought back a shudder.

"I'm afraid I'm a little new here, so after you?" This might very well turn into a case of blind leading the blind.

"You wake up here today too?" Stupid fucking smile...

The smile was rather permanent, sorry. He nodded. "Just in time to make gingerbread houses before lunch. A very amusing way to spend the morning, though highly unconvincing."

He'd followed some blond kid from near his own room. He had no good idea of the layout of this place yet, and he'd seemed to have a little more idea. Besides, Yohji was curious as to why such a young looking guy was in this place. Same with Sasuke. There were too many kids here and the niggling sense of wrongness was eating at him. Why were all the rooms unlocked?
They were near the bathrooms. He remebered that much. And there seemed to be quite a crowd. Well, by Mental Hospital corridors by night standards anyway. Definitely something wrong.
He wasn't really sure he wanted to interrupt the conversation that the blond kid was having with those other people, but he'd never find out anything if he didn't ask.
Taking a breath and trying to make himself look as harmless as possible, he stepped out of the shadows towards them, apologetic smile on his face. "Hi. I don't suppose anyone would mind telling me why we're suddenly allowed to wander around."
He winced slightly at the edge of hysteria in his tone, but really, this was getting kinda' worrying. He was supposed to be here to recover, but with this kind of atmosphere, he felt more like he was on a mission again. (http://community.livejournal.com/landels_damned/34938.html) ()

"Didn't anyone tell you about the night?" he asked, with the tone of someone who had bad news and wished he didn't.

And, of course, it had to be someone else that had no idea what was going on. This was looking better and better. Damn, he wanted to hit some

The cheerful smile said that yes, he knew exactly how horrible that pun was.
no subject
It sounded hollow, even to him, but at least it pushed away the rising panic a little. Hell, even that terrible pun had helped, drawing a tiny smile from him. "At least I'm not the only one."

Takaya wanted a weapon, badly, but he had to settle for tightening his grip on his flashlight and scowling into the gloom of the hallway.
no subject
"Torture? Well, Sanzo did mention that." He smiled reassuringly at Ginji, though the smile was as much meant for Yohji. "It shows what it is, which gives us enough warning to prepare. We've all obviously been brought here for a reason, and whatever that reason may be, this is part of it. Now then. You mentioned going to find a friend?"
Hakkai started walking casually toward the door leading out of the block. He wasn't exactly comfortable here, but he wasn't feeling especially threatened yet, either. That didn't mean he wanted to stand around in the open all night.

Yohji swallowed, mind going back to Koua Academy and the things which had hidden beneath the facade of the perfect school. His thoughts were whirling now, running over every increasingly terrible possibility. If this place was something other than what it seemed... had his friends really sent him here? Maybe they hadn't known. Maybe it was some kind of mission? But why wouldn't he have been told about it? Unless he still had to find someone from Kritiker.
And those were just the thoughts which were vaugely hopeful. The others... that Rosenkreuz had something to do with it, were less pleasant.
He squeezed his eyes shut for a moment, hands clenching into fists. Fuck. He took a deep breath and then looked back up at the others. "I don't know about you, but I was under the impression I was here to get psychiatric help. Not to work."
But if something was wrong here, if this was some plot by some psycho, he couldn't really stand back when he was here. Maybe it would evenhelp him prove himself to Kritiker.
"Well, if you're going somewhere, mind if I come along? I want to find out what this place is."

The noise was what caught Takaya's attention. Frowning, he turned, hands already half into the first banishment sign though he knew it wouldn't have any effect. When he finally saw what had appeared, his eyes widened and he took a step back. "What the fuck is that?!?"
no subject
He glanced at Ginji, amusement tinged with something darker. "I do believe this is one of the things wanting to attack us?"
no subject
"I'm guessing this is one of the things that wants to attack us, right?" he said dryly, turning to face it properly and measuring the odds. They didn't look good. If he'd had his wire then he could at least have caught it up and kept it from stinging. As it was he would have to make do with... a flashlight.
Joy.
"Don't suppose anyone has any wire on them or something similar?" He really doubted it but it was worth a shot.

He was going to have to be very careful. After what the doctors had done to him he might end up losing control before he normally would. He didn't want to break his promise to Ban again, so he would have to fight and try to keep his mind at the same time.

It was just like Zell's luck for him to go wandering the halls and turn a corner to practically smack into an insect the size of a small pony.
He honestly wasn't sure, for half of a terrified second, whether or not nearly bumping into the back end of a giant scorpion was better or worse than walking into the front end. Not exactly an important thing to be thinking at that particular moment, but the logical part of Zell's brain had frozen up entirely for the moment and so the dumber cells were filling the space. Probably the most useful questions he was able to ask himself in the few seconds before he was able to stop staring and start thinking about reacting was they can't sting stuff behind them, can they? and shit, could it hear me? And, of course, he had no idea, which didn't reassure him whatsoever.
Once Zell finally got over the natural "holy shit it's an insect big enough to ride" reaction, he finally became aware that there were people in the hallway with him. On the other side of the scorpion, which was possibly even worse luck for him than his having arrived unexpectedly at this end. They all had the sort of battle-ready look he recognized, and that at least made him feel a little better - a world where guys fought big ugly monsters was at least vaguely familiar.
He spared a moment to glance down at his hands. He'd lost Ehrgeiz, somehow, which meant that his fists were entirely bare; at least Ehrgeiz'd had some nice metal studs on the knuckles and bands over his fingers so he didn't break his hand when punching, say, robots. And, well, a scorpion this big - how thick would its carapace (he couldn't believe he'd remembered that word, but he'd gotten sick of getting marked down on tests for his creative spelling interpretations of it) be?
Still, he wasn't just gonna stand here. After a moment's hesitation as he cast about for something to do with his flashlight, he switched it off and tucked it into the waistband of his pants. Now at least his hands were free.

He took a step forward to meet the attack and also place himself in between Ginji and the thing lunging towards them. He moved to shove the blond backwards.
"Run damn it! R-" the words were cut short as one of those wicked looking claws hit him hard across the side.
Stupid hyper blond guy, reminding him too much of his friends back home. Of course he would try to protect him...
no subject
"Ah. Yes, perhaps running would be a good idea?" The 'and soon' hung unspoken. Hakkai wasn't going to be able to hold this for much longer.

He sighed inwardly, guessing that he would probably regret this. But he'd always been an idiot when it came to saving people. Admittedly, they normally weren't guys, but he really wasn't in the mood to let something happen to this guy while he stood back and watched. Too much like betrayal.
He ignored the green glow that had appeared and moved quickly towards the fallen man, grabbing him around the waist and tuging him backwards. Now he just had to try and get them both a few feet away before that thing struck again.
