"It's more like the Old Worlders didn't have the balls to destroy their own technology, so after they sealed it off they used whatever power they had left to ensure that the knowledge of how to make it all go away if some idiot decided to activate the stuff again and passed it down through certain families." For all she knew there could be other family lines out there with the special sealing blood.

"As far as I know the artifacts came from my world. I suspect some people made them, realized how dangerous they were and then buried them. Then someone else came along, without the smarts to know when to leave stuff alone, and started using them to make more stuff." She shrugged. "That was before my time, thought, thankfully."
