Day 32: Sun Room (2nd shift)

After the couple glasses of water Leon managed to gulp down during breakfast, the mage felt immensely better. He was still a bit tired, but that was nothing a little lounging on one of the sofas wouldn't cure. Stretching his arms above his head, he couldn't help but wish he'd had the chance to grab one of his new doctor's coats before leaving his room that morning. Maybe they would have let him get away with wearing it. Maybe.

He grabbed an empty sofa, pulling out the journal he tried to keep on him at all times. It was nearly complete now. Just a couple more pages to go. It might not improve his spellcasting that much, but any improvement was better than none. It was getting to where it might be too dangerous for him to use spells at all, if it left him so worn out without even finishing a monster off.

Peter wasn't sure what made this girl think that he had needed company - had he looked particularly lonely, maybe? Granted, he didn't mind meeting someone new, and with someone so young he figured she probably needed all the support she could get. He just wasn't sure how much he could help.

She seemed around Claire's age, though, which meant that he was already feeling sympathetic toward her. Until she came out with a single word that threw him off, anyway.

At first he didn't know what to make of it, but the connection was clear as day. It had to be some coincidence, though, since there was no way she knew who he was... No one else here had recognized him except for people he already knew. Then again, he had been brought here right after the explosion -- maybe there were some people around who knew about what role he had played in New York's almost-destruction.

Maybe she had been there, or maybe she had powers and could tell somehow.

He frowned, his different thoughts displayed in confusion on his face. He leaned in toward her. "Do you... know something?"
