Day 32: Sun Room (2nd shift)

After the couple glasses of water Leon managed to gulp down during breakfast, the mage felt immensely better. He was still a bit tired, but that was nothing a little lounging on one of the sofas wouldn't cure. Stretching his arms above his head, he couldn't help but wish he'd had the chance to grab one of his new doctor's coats before leaving his room that morning. Maybe they would have let him get away with wearing it. Maybe.

He grabbed an empty sofa, pulling out the journal he tried to keep on him at all times. It was nearly complete now. Just a couple more pages to go. It might not improve his spellcasting that much, but any improvement was better than none. It was getting to where it might be too dangerous for him to use spells at all, if it left him so worn out without even finishing a monster off.

It would have been so much easier if it had been a spell!

Amelia's face turned fearful as Zelgadis pressed the subject further. He was putting his own life in danger by doing that! "No!" she cried in response. "But I... I can't tell you why, either!"

Zelgadis was growing more agitated. What could possibly be going on?

"Why can't you tell me, then?"

He could feel his pulse quickening. Something dangerous was going on and he was totally ignorant of what it was.

This was going nowhere fast, and while that may have been the desired destination, Amelia never wanted to get Zelgadis so upset. It was almost like... like she was the bad guy! For an Ally of Justice to be used as an instrument of evil... what a horrific (yet dramatic!) turn of events!

Shaking her head sadly, keeping her own composure in hope that it would help Zelgadis calm down as well, Amelia gave her final answer. "I've already told you everything I can." Which was nothing besides the fact that she did know something. It had to be frustrating for poor Zelgadis to only know that much... but she couldn't let him dig any deeper!
