Day 32: Sun Room (2nd shift)

After the couple glasses of water Leon managed to gulp down during breakfast, the mage felt immensely better. He was still a bit tired, but that was nothing a little lounging on one of the sofas wouldn't cure. Stretching his arms above his head, he couldn't help but wish he'd had the chance to grab one of his new doctor's coats before leaving his room that morning. Maybe they would have let him get away with wearing it. Maybe.

He grabbed an empty sofa, pulling out the journal he tried to keep on him at all times. It was nearly complete now. Just a couple more pages to go. It might not improve his spellcasting that much, but any improvement was better than none. It was getting to where it might be too dangerous for him to use spells at all, if it left him so worn out without even finishing a monster off.

[ Waiting for Jack Skellington. ]

Glad to see that Roxas had found Axel, Sora didn't hesitate in heading to an armchair near the bulletin board and plopping down into it, since he had arranged a meeting with Jack Skellington earlier.

He could only hope that the Pumpkin King didn't have any trouble finding him, though he didn't think it would be too much of a problem. He was curious to see how he looked now that Landel's had put him into a human body - it definitely was going to be weird, considering what he looked like normally!

Then there was the fact that this Jack didn't even know him, but they could probably figure out more about that once he showed up. Sora tried not to bounce in his seat. It was so exciting to see old friends again, especially when it was someone as neat as Jack!

[ooc; D: I THOUGHT MY POST WENT THROUGH, apparently it did not DX]

Spikey brown hair. That's what Jack had to go on to find this mysterious boy that so many people here linked to him. Sora was a friend, someone who had travelled to Halloween Town, Christmas Town, someplace called Destiny Islands, and had met Sandy Cl-- Santa Claus. There had to be some explanation as to why Jack didn't remember him when it was the skeleton's policy to remember everyone who just so happened to waltz through his home. There weren't many who could claim to have done so, after all.

Ducking through the doorway, Jack shielded his eyes from the sun with one hand as he surveyed the room before him. Spikey brown hair, shortish probably, male and-- there! The boy was practically bouncing with excitement and Jack strode over to him, waving heartily before extending an all too human hand. "Sora, I assume? Good to meet you for the first time and the second perhaps!"

[ No worries! ♥ Just glad for Jaaaack. ]

While it probably hadn't been too long that he'd had to wait, to Sora it felt like forever. He was just so eager to see Jack again, and he kept scanning the crowd and wondering if one of the faces he didn't recognize was actually someone he knew rather well.

Though when a figure emerged out of the crowd, Sora immediately knew who it was. Sure, Jack was different - really different - though there was no mistaking him, considering his height and hardly having any meat on his bones, even now.

Once he got close enough, Sora rocketed out of his seat and grabbed for the hand, surprised at how warm it was. "Yep, that's me! It's good to see you again, and... in the flesh!" he greeted, laughing briefly at his little joke.

Sora was certainly enthusiastic! That was a trait Jack appreciated in his friends and he laughed heartily, shaking Sora's hand in wide exaggerated movements. "That's the spirit! In the flesh for the first time, eh? I never remember having it before."

Jack let go of Sora's hand and reached up, stretching the skin at his cheeks to make a face. He let go and laughed again. "Not quite as good as the old self, but it's still stretchy enough, don't you think? Now, to see about you." Taking a few steps, Jack went around Sora, studying him with a hand to his chin. Spikey hair, blue eyes, smallish frame, enthusiastic, definitely a good soul - definitely not someone he'd met before. "No, no, not a memory at all! How rude of me! Perhaps, Sora, you can enlighten me as to how you know me, but I don't know you?"

"Yep, the first time! You look good, though," Sora decided with a firm nod. Jack's normal form suited him better, of course, but his transfer to a human body hadn't turned out too badly.

When Jack made an attempt to pull his face like he had in the past, Sora couldn't help laughing again. He still managed to stretch his mouth open pretty wide; Sora was impressed!

He blinked as Jack moved to examine him, though it made sense considering that they were supposed to know each other. Once he had finished, Sora turned toward him and yanked his cheeks apart as well - it wasn't as good as Jack's, he was sure, but he still wanted to try!

After that he stepped back and sat down again, thinking over Jack's question. "I'm not sure how it works, but it's happened before. People I met while traveling didn't know who I was here. I think it has to do with there being so many different worlds, so sometimes there are different versions of the same people." He shrugged, looking a little troubled by that, though that expression cleared soon enough. "But you are the same people, so it's okay!"

"It's a good diguise, but nothing can compare to being able to take off my head!" Jack said, pushing both hands under his jawline as he once again tried to take the blasted thing off. It simply wasn't fair! How could anyone survive with their head attached like this all the time? It felt unnatural! He stopped pulling in time to see Sora's face and he gave a delighted round of applause and a hearty cheer. "That's the way! Exactly! Just a little higher in the cheeks there and you'll be a perfect scarer in no time!"

Sora began explaining things and Jack listened carefully, stroking his chin as he tried to puzzle out this extremely odd situation. Different worlds and different versions? That meant there was another him out there? Like the one he saw in the mirror? Trapped like that, unable to get out - what a tragedy! Jack would have to go back and help that poor soul out sometime. "Well, I don't think I'm any different so yes, still the same!" He laughed and looked down at Sora, leaning down a little just to close the gap between them. "So where did you go in all your travels? I'm interested in travel too, you know! I've only been one place, but it was absolutely magnificent!"

Sora got a little worried when he saw Jack make a valiant attempt to remove his head, but it looked like the man hadn't hurt himself trying, so that was good. He couldn't help flashing a bright smile at Jack's compliment, though. Sora knew he wasn't really scary at all compared to the Pumpkin King, but he could make a pretty decent scarer when he was decked out in his Halloween Town garb! "It was also really cool how you could spin around and stuff when you were a skeleton. You really helped out me and my friends when he fought the Heartless!"

As expected, Jack ended up asking about the places Sora had been. This Jack was definitely the same (or close enough) to the one he had met. While he had tried not to tell his Jack about the other worlds (because of "world order" and all that), he was sure that if he had, the skeleton would have sat him down for hours asking him to recount his journeys.

"I've been to a bunch of different worlds, actually," he admitted, sounding a little proud of himself. "It would take a while to name them all!" Maybe that was stretching it, but he couldn't help trying to sound impressive when someone was so interested!
